Posted - Apr 12 2010 : 09:52:25 AM I have some wild sockeye salmon in the dehydrator now, and I'm hoping my experiment with jerky works! I marinated it overnight in soy sauce, worcester, spices, a little honey and tabasco. My son is crazy for salmon and I thought this would make good afternoon snacks for him. I really haven't used the dehydrator much but I figured it was time to try it out! I'm going to start drying fruits to add to bread, cereal and oatmeal too.

Posted - Apr 13 2010 : 2:37:23 PM Fishy sawdust, LOL! Maybe you can salvage some of the dust to add flavor to breading for some other dish. Fish dust...too funny.

Posted - Apr 13 2010 : 08:28:42 AM Well, maybe I left it in the dehydrator too long but I find it a bit too dry for my taste. I like jerky but this just kinda turned to fishy sawdust, lol.
