I made a bakeover last night and it seemed like I might have missed something because the filling part came out a bit dry. I had cooked meat (diced buffalo - mmmmm), cooked leeks, garbanzo beans and peas. I topped it with the homemade version of the bakeover mix and popped it in the oven. Should there have been some liquid component?

Thanks

LOL Michele! I so totally agree! Bakeovers have quickly become a family favorite around here, and it's so handy to combine leftovers to add to them! yum!

Kim.
I always add some kind of cheese to mine, too.
Aren't bakeovers the best
Nobody knows they are eating leftovers
My mom refuses to eat leftovers but she'll eat bakeovers. LOL

Kim,
You might want to try adding some cheeses as well. May help with the binding.

Thanks, I'll try that. I definitely think it will be a favorite once I get the ratios down right.

I think that fresh veggies usually add the moisture content, you may have to keep experimenting until you find the right combo for you. I usually add things like carrots and celery and onion and tomatoes and haven't had the dryness...Next time maybe add a little liquid bullion over it before the top crust and see if that helps. The bakeovers have become one of my family favorites.
