I love coffee now. I did not start drinking coffee until 2005. I needed the energy everyone said it would give me. Now, I can't wait to wake up in the morning and have a cup of super strong coffee.

I was raised on coffee and absolutely love it! I recently aquired an italian coffee maker you use on the stove top-will make 2 cups at a time. Anyone ever use one of these? I'm a 2 cup a day person with the occasional 3rd if I didn't sleep well.

When i was a teenager, my mother informed me that I needed to learn how to drink coffee, or I would be a social failure. I can remember my brother and me making coffee for our parents when we were little and staggering upstairs with it on a tray, usually about half the coffee slopped over.
Well, I learned how to drink coffee, I learned to love coffee, but I am still a social failure. And now I'm a little bit of a coffee snob to boot. I think part of the lure of the coffee is that it is such a nice, communal beverage. I often go out with qa friend for coffee, or bum a cup, or we make a pot at my house, One time I was at a restaurant with my friend Georgeanne, and the waitress asked us if we would like a refill, but that it would cost us an extra dollar. Georgeanne thought that was terrible and told the witress that coffee is the drink of hospitality and that a refill shouldn't be charged for. The waitress agreed and said she'd suggested that to the owner, or having the price raised so that a refill wouldn't cost anything.

When I was first married, my sister, who lived in New York City used to send us fresh roasted coffee beans every once in a while. I swear we could smell the UPS truck as it came up the driveway....

I like coffee every now and then. I love going to starbucks with my mom and sister and getting a mocha or something. I can't drink to much because I find I don't feel well afterwards.

A coffee mug swap would be great! Should we make it a Christmas theme?

Marly I was in the service for 10 years and learned to sleep when you can, even standing up if need be. Coffee has just never kept me awake like some people. I make a 12 cup pot in the morning. I give my hubby 1 cup and the rest is mine. I drink it all through out the day, the darker it get the better I like it. By early evening another pot is made and once again he get's 1 and the rest is mine. LOL I drink Folgers medium blend and only because my hubby can't take it as strong as me. If he's not looking I sneak in a couple scoops of Bustelo which is a veryyyyy strong Latin ground. If it was just me I'd drink it thick as black tar.

You can't sleep cause your laughing so hard from your book reading. LOL And your worried about those little boys wetting the bed, it has nothing to do with coffee! LOL You're just to funny!

I have several favorite coffee cups. I broke one of them just last week. But, while I drink the first cup of strong coffee in a trace, I always read or look at the coffee cup. LOL

Yes ... give it a couple of weeks to take hold. Sure hope it works for you as well as it does for me. Found this hint years ago on a Q&A from a doctor who writes ongoing articles for our local newspaper. The grape juice has an added benefit for your blood as well.

Thanks Sharon. I will give a try. I have problems with arthritis occasionally, mostly in the winter months. I am trying to get off otc pain killers as much as possible. I have problems with ulcers too, so I have to be careful what I use. This sounds like it might work. I will let all of you know in a couple of weeks. Thanks a bunch!

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Hi Peapicker ~ I've had arthritis for several years and was getting hooked on Aleve and Tylenol until I heard of a more natural way of reducing the aches and pains of it. Every morning I drink a cup of 100% PURPLE grape juice laced with Certo ... 1 cup grape jc to 1 Tbsp Certo. To make it more simply, I add one envelope of Certo (comes two to a box) to a quart of purple grape juice. It has helped me tremendously and only do the Aleve or Tylenol when things get really bad. Hope this helps someone! Sharon

We love our coffee here. Buy green beans, roast and grind then brew. Yummy good and smells heavenly. And we still sleep well ... go figure.

I have to have my coffee first thing every morning.
And, I have to have it ready for me, all brewed and all I have to do is pour a cup. If it's not ready and I have to make it myself, well, watch out, because something will surely go wrong- I'll spill the coffee, the water, or overflow the pot, then my whole day will start off on the wrong foot.
And, don't talk to me before I have my first cup either. It won't do you any good because I can't hear you and I won't answer back!
That's how strongly I feel about my coffee, lol!!! :)
It sounds like some of you are just the same way I am!

I drink a diet pepsi for my morning caffiene, but love a good cafe mocha.

Hardly "real" coffee by most standards, but still good

I love having my 'cuppa' in the morning! My favorite little treat is all the fun mugs with memories attached - my moms mug from when I was a little girl, my east coast country club grandma's super fancy mug, my goofy pink flamingo florida grandma's flowery mug, my favorite mug when I was a little girl with the little pink teddy bears having a tea party. ugh! And I get to be reminded of all these lovely things while I drink in coffee, any old coffee, with some fancy creamer...

if only my toddler and 3 month old wouldn't usually keep me from finishing my two cups before they are cold! a few more years, and our mornings will be clock work!

it's late. I'm sleepy and I want to wake up tomorrow, snuggle with my home made prayer shawl and one of my 'memory cups' of coffee and my bible. oh dang. I'm going to have sweet dreams to night. g'nite ladies!

Your answer cannot be that simple. How come you can sleep after drinking coffee all day, and I cannot. LOL
How many cups do you drink in a day. Give me some information here. LOL

My favorite coffee is Community (dark roast) or Mello Joy (dark roast) both Louisiana coffees.
I'd love for all of you MJ farmgirl coffee drinkers to come by and have coffee with me. I'd even get up early in the morning to greet all of you!

Sharon, I never heard of grape juice and certo for arthritis. Would you explain it a little more.

Yes, I am addicted to coffee. It's the one thing that I would have a very hard time giving up. I drink hot tea sometimes, but coffee is a necessity.....just my opinion..... I know I could live without it, but that wouldn't be much fun. I still want to try roasing my own beans, just as soon as I get organized enough to order some.

Mmmm coffee. My favourite is Grizzly Claw by Kicking Horse Coffee (don't know if you can get it in the States, but you can order it on line). My coffee mug says "Coffee.... wonderful proof that God understands our needs and meets them perfectly".
