Posted - Sep 25 2009 : 9:11:07 PM I know that tomatillos make great fresh salsa, but is there another use for them? There is only so much fresh salsa two people can eat! Note to self: only plant TWO tomatillo plants next year! ![](icons/icon_smile_big.gif) Di |

Posted - Sep 27 2009 : 11:17:01 AM Thanks Toni and Sheila! It never occurred to me to use them in soups (although I use just about everything else imaginable!!). Di |

Posted - Sep 26 2009 : 03:26:04 AM You could can them to use later in soups or sauces. There are several white chili recipes I have seen that call for canned tomatillos. I think you basically follow canning instructions for tomatoes. Or you could husk, wash, then freeze them, too. Or roast them then freeze for more flavor.
Here is a link to a Tomatillo Chicken Stew recipe I found the other day that I would like to try. http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/tomatillo_chicken_stew/
If it ever stops raining, I should have a lot of them ready in my garden, unless they all float away! |
