Someone gave me a large box of pears. These were slightly over-ripe little dinky pears. So I tried to make pear sauce - like applesauce. Cut them up, cooked with a little bit of water, added lemon juice, a cinnamon stick and a bit of honey.

The whole thing smelled heavenly as it cooked. Pressed the mess through the food mill, and ended up with.... Pear juice.

So I brought it to a boil, added some chillover powder, and boiled for 3 minutes.

Took it off the heat, and poured into jars. I have to freeze it, since I can't can with my stove, but we'll have some heavenly "sorta" jam/syrup for waffles this winter.

Happy mistake!

That actually sounds really good Bev! Some of my best tasting things have happened because of an accident. Problem is, I can't usually remember what I did!
