Hi Gals, Here's the recipe requested from the "What's Everybody Canning" thread. It makes 5 quarts. I have canned and frozen this sauce and it works great either way.

3 onions - chopped
6 cloves garlic - minced
3 Tbl olive oil
3 c tomato puree
1 1/4 c tomato paste
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 Tbl fresh rosemary - chopped
1 Tbl fresh oregano - chopped
1 Tbl fresh thyme - chopped
1 Tbl fresh basil - chopped
3 Tbl yellow mustard

Saute onion and garlic in olive oil until crisp-tender. Add tomato puree, paste, chicken broth, and fresh herbs (if you don't have fresh, used 1 Tbl dried Italian seasoning). Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in mustard. Can, freeze, or cool and use.

What an interesting recipe for pizza sauce. I've collected a few, even tried a couple different recipes, but none of them used chicken broth or mustard. We love pizza and it's always best with homemade sauce. I'm about ready to can this years pizza sauce and just might have to give this one a try.

Did you use a pressure canner or BWB to can it?

Thanks for sharing.

It thickens nicely. Over the years I've tried a number of pizza sauce recipes and have never been happy. This one is the BEST (in my opinion, anyway). I think the chicken broth and the mustard are the secrets. I always try to keep some on hand (canned or frozen) along with frozen homemade pizza crust, for a fast, easy, good-for-you dinner.
