(in bold is what I need help with)

Marinated Vegetable Salad

1 can L Sour Peas (what are sour peas?)
1 can shoe peg corn
1 can french green beans
1 can garogoba beans(I'm typing it as I see it on the card)
1 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup green onion chopped
1 cup celery chopped

Mix all above together & add marinate - refrigerate overnight

Marinate: 1 t salt, 1/2 t pepper, 1 tbs water, 3/4 C white vinegar, 1/2 C oil (veg) & 1 C sugar. Mix & pour over veg.

I had this at our church picnic last year and wanted to make some for our camping trip this weekend. I have the shoe peg corn & a can of really small peas (would those be sour peas?) I have no idea about the garogoba beans???? Could be a misspelling. I cannot contact the lady who made this until next month - she's on vacation.

Any ideas?

I think it meant Leseur peas also...its a name brand. I also agree that its garbanzos.

It sounds like a yummy recipe.

Also, if you like that recipe, try this one. Its yummy. I also add whatever veggies you have around its really flexible.

Israeli Chickpea Salad
Ingredients
1 cucumber , seeded and diced
1 green bell pepper , diced
3 large ripe plum tomatoes , seeded and diced
1/4 cup chopped bermuda (red)onions
1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas , rinsed and drained
Dressing
4 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons white vinegar
Directions
1. Combine vegetables
2. Wisk together dressing and mix into vegetables.
3. Allow to chill in refrigerator for an hour or so before serving

OK, I like detective work, so I went to Recipezaar and looked for a marinated veggie salad, and this one looks similar.

It just says peas, not any particular type. I think what you have would work well.

Could garogoba really be garbonzo? Like chickpeas? They would hold up well in a marinated salad.

I'm not sure what sour peas would be, but I think I would stay away from 'em! Really small peas would probably be good, though. Sweet, not sour! Oh, wait! Could it be the brand name, I think it may be Le Seour or something like that?
