Posted - Jul 27 2009 : 12:27:44 PM i'm baking homemade bread and i swear, the smell of it can't compare to anything else! though, most homemade meals cooking in the oven smell pretty darn good, too.... so i was wondering, what are your favorite smells? it doesn't even have to be cooking smells... i just didn't know where else to ask this question, so i put it in the kitchen section.
Here are some more wonderful aromas that i LOVE!
- sage - pine trees - when the rain just starts to come down, that smell of the earth as it's getting wet, especially in the desert - good, clean soil

Posted - Jul 29 2009 : 08:48:15 AM Sheri, wood smoke is fabulous! There used to be a small BBQ shop close to where we lived, and they had several large hickory smokers going every day... it was wonderful. Every time we passed by there we'd roll down our windows and just inhale that amazing smell.

Posted - Jul 29 2009 : 05:42:28 AM My most favorite smell, is wood smoke. Absolutely love it. In fact, on Sunday as we worked out in our garden and green house, we kept the campfire going all day into past dark. When we took a break, we sat by it, my husband and I. We both enjoy it so much. We start out in the early morning, with a fire and a pot of coffee. This is where we catch up on plans and the goings on. Only a week end thing though, as he works a full time job somewhere else. So relaxing on the week ends, for both of us. Also, the smell of bread. I make stone baked sourdough bread to sell at the farmers market, and so on Thursdays and Fridays, the whole area around out home smells like a bakery. So hard not to want to take a bite out of them.
