Posted - Jul 13 2009 : 10:09:51 PM Yes that is Swiss Chard. It also comes in a rainbow variety with yellow and red stalkes. We like it a lot better than spinach and it cans well for all year long. I add bacon bits and chopped onions with a small dab of bacon grease. I haven't tried the sauted method, but definitely will. |

Posted - Jul 13 2009 : 8:49:41 PM Personally, I'm not a fan of greens (kale, spinach, etc.) but I LOVE swiss chard. We've grown the rainbow chard in the past, red and yellow stems. They are so beautiful. I agree with the previous cooking methods. Just slice the leaves into ribbons and saute in olive oil and garlic. If you're a meat eater, some crumbled bacon is good too. |

Posted - Jul 13 2009 : 7:15:18 PM I love Swiss Chard! but my husband hates it. I mix it in with other stuff (like beans) to hide it from him. If it has onions in it, he will tolerate it.
