I received this recipe by email from the Almanac. It sounds absolutely heavenly on these hot, hot days!

Cold Strawberry Soup
Fruit Recipes | Soups, Stews, Chowders Recipes
SAVERATEEMAILPRINTYield: Makes 3-1/2 cups

1 quart fresh or frozen strawberries
1/3 cup orange juice
1/4 cup cranberry juice
1/2 cup yogurt
1 teaspoon lime juice
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
whipped cream or yogurt for garnish
fruit for garnish
fresh mint leaves
Mix all ingredients (except garnishes) together and puree in food processor or blender. Chill for several hours to allow flavors to blend.

Garnish each serving with a dollop of whipped cream or yogurt, more cinnamon if desired, fruit, and a mint leaf

The recipe sounds terrific, but I would have to change the word soup to something else that sounded more cool and refreshing. Let us know if you try it out and if it turns out to be a five star recipe.

Shoot! I knew I shouldn't have passed on those strawberries from the farm market...fortunately, it's right outside my office building and won't close for another couple of hours.
