I've read in MaryJane's Magazine that you can use the ChillOver powder to make jam. Does anyone have the recipe?? Thank you!

I did attend the class with MaryJane! It was so much fun. The ChillOver is to be stored at room temp. You can order in bulk on her website to reduce packaging. A word of advice on the chillover powder. Put the powder into a shaker, like a salt shaker when adding it to your recipe. the powder may clump if you add it all at once. but it is so easy to use and so nice that it's not made of animal products. hope to hear how your jam goes!

Fantastic! I really would like to make jam without sugar - I'm trying very hard to remove all sugar from my diet. I'll be purchasing the chillover as well. But. can it be stored on a shelf or just in the fridge. Also, did you attend the perserving the harvest class with MaryJane???

Thanks!

In the "preserving the harvest" class we tried the warm jam over coconut ice cream before we canned it. It was heavenly!! and the chillover recipe is easier than regular gelatin recipes are, you don't need sugar in order for it to set. I will be ordering a bulk order of ChillOver before harvest season starts!

This is the height of strawberry season for us. I've been freezing whole berries until I can get a few minutes to make some strawberry jam. I know I have a package of chillover in the pantry! Thanks for posting the link!

Virginia- I have to say MaryJane is 100% right about the taste! It's amazing! I got to sample some last summer on some fresh made biscuits and it was so good! And the color was so rich!

Hi Virginia,
I taught a "Preserving the Harvest" Pay Dirt class this past Saturday here at the farm. One of our projects was ChillOver raspberry jam. I will try to post a pic if I get a minute. It really does make superior jam. It's also an ideal thickener for fruit leather. We made strawberry leather. We used frozen berries for both. The color stays vibrant, you don't need to use as much sugar or none at all, etc. The flavor is extraordinary. The women who attended the class were sold on it.

It's in the "Magazine Extra's" section of the magazine portion of the website (www.maryjanesfarm.org) towards the bottom:
