Dear Jo and Al,
Please remember not to type in all caps -- in the computer world, that's the equivalent of shouting, and it's harder to read (although, understandably, easier to type!).

And to avoid lengthening the posts by repeating the message that you're replying to, follow our instructions from the "Member Tips" post in the Welcome Wagon:

When replying to a specific comment that a member has made to you... please do not click on the "reply to member" button, because that repeats the whole message all over within your comment box. Just do a "quick reply" at the bottom of each page and address the member's name that you wish to comment to...AND you can do several within the content of one post; OR, if you'd like more options, just above this quick reply box is the option to "reply to topic". This option allows you to use smiley faces and to customize your text.

Thank you all!
Carol

Margret,
Thanks fo rthe recipe!
I think I'll give it a try today.
It was so cold this morning (6 degrees), it will be nice to warm up the house with the oven and the smell of molasses!
Thanks again,

INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup margarine, melted
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup white sugar

DIRECTIONS:
In a medium bowl, mix together the melted margarine, 1 cup sugar, and egg until smooth. Stir in the molasses. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger; blend into the molasses mixture. Cover, and chill dough for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Roll dough into walnut sized balls, and roll them in the remaining white sugar. Place cookies 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until tops are cracked. Cool on wire racks.

Enjoy!!
