Posted - Nov 16 2008 : 05:55:21 AM I'm going to be on the hunt for that book! I collect the old spiral bound Betty Crocker cookbooks from the 60's. I would love to learn more about "Betty". I especially enjoyed the Homemakers Creed - I too will be placing it on my fridge.
Thank you both!

Posted - Oct 16 2008 : 10:27:02 AM I love that book! For those who haven't read it - it is not a cookbook but the story of "Betty Crocker".
The Homemaker's Creed really jumped out at me too! I copied it from the book to make into a needlepoint project this winter! |

Posted - Oct 14 2008 : 8:56:41 PM I have my Grandma's Betty Crocker cookbook, probably from the fifties. It is fun to page through it and see the little notes in the margin. Ironically, she could have owned a thousand cookbooks and it wouldn't have helped. She was a horrible cook!

Posted - Oct 14 2008 : 6:18:04 PM Thanks for the link Amanda. I have a 27 year old Betty Crocker cookbook and my mom has one from the fifties. They recipes are nice, reliable, and usually easy to make. I still use my book at least once a week.
