Posted - Sep 09 2008 : 5:12:45 PM Angie, I just fly by the seat of my pants when i cook. To make my syrup, I used the wild plums we had growing, just cut them in half, threw them in a pot with water, and boiled them to get the juice. Strained juice, then added a BIG sprig of rosemary to the pot, and got it all hot and let the rosemary steep while the juice cooked down a bit. Remove rosemary; sweetened syrup to taste, and canned it. |

Posted - Sep 09 2008 : 1:21:31 PM plum chutney? syrup? I made a delighful syrup from plums, flavored with a bit of rosmary or sage. DIVINE! Use it to sweeten tea, pour over pancakes, or make sorbets.....or add to a bit of carbonated water for a natural "soda". |
