Posted - Oct 27 2005 : 5:27:11 PM Not "healthy" but... my son's pre-school Halloween party was today and we brought marshmallows that we dipped in orange candy coating (Wilton sells this as candy-melts) and used miniature chocolate chips to create jack-o-lantern faces.
I used to work with someone who told me that she wraps up some cans of veggies and adds to the candy bowl - the greediest trick-or-treaters would take the BIG thing - they got tricked!
Enjoy the good things in life - especially when there is time for tea! |

Posted - Oct 27 2005 : 4:55:29 PM I make little gingerbread heart cakes ( along with store bought popcorn balls) - It's usually the Moms who bring their kids to the door and ask for them! Been doing it for 3 years and make more every year......... |

Posted - Oct 27 2005 : 11:22:46 AM I have made lolipop ghosts for my daughter's class since she was in kindergarten. She'a now 19 and fondly remembers them. Wrap a tootsie pop or blow pop with a tissue or two. Secure with a black or orange ribbon. The kids loved these. |

Posted - Oct 27 2005 : 11:17:45 AM For supper on Halloween we usually have "beanies and halloweenies". My kids think I am so weird!! I will be making caramel apples for special trick or treaters for sure..and sometimews we do carmel corn. I will make cookies and do a punch in a plastic "cauldron" with dry ice for my son's shcool party. I am his room mom this year. That is always a big hit.

Posted - Oct 27 2005 : 06:44:21 AM Sometimes I make an "orange" meal - macaroni and cheese, or pizza and punch with orange sherbet and 7up. Not my usual standard for good, healthy dinner! We usually make smores in the outdoor fireplace that night. |
