I know this might sound strange...but whenever I make biscuits, we always seem to have two leftover. There's only 3 of us to eat them, and it just works out that way.

Anyway, does anyone have any recipes or ideas for uses of old biscuits? I keep thinking I could crumble them on top of something, but I'm not sure how or what. I know there has to be a yummy, unique solution!!

Crumble them up and toss with butter for toppings on a cassorole or freeze them to add to dressing.

If I have any biscuits left I usually cut them in half and put a little butter on them and put them on my little cast iron griddle..it is small only 2 biscuits cut in half will fit. and brown them up. You can and a little jam if you like.. Yummy....also make some gravy and you have biscuits and gravy..

Thanks so much for the recipes--now I'm going to have to bake extra so they can get stale, lol!

How about putting them in the food processor for bread crumbs. I always seem to need them for a topping on casseroles or for a Apple (berry) Betty.
Yum!

OK here is the Bread Pudding recipe!! This is a treasure in my family, so I must really love you fellow farmgals to pass it along into your families! Cherish it!! haha!!

Bread Pudding

1c sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2c milk
5-6 biscuits
1 tsp vanilla
sprinkle of nutmeg & cinnamon

Beat together sugar & egg. Add milk & vanilla. Crumble biscuits in, stir well. Butter pan & pour mixture in. Drop butter on top then sprinkle with nutmeg & cinnamon. Bake at 350 till done. Make vanilla pudding for sauce.

Vanilla Pudding

1 1/2c sugar
1/4c flour or cornstarch
3 egg yolks
3c milk
2 tbs butter
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix flour & sugar in saucepan. Add milk w/egg yolk in it. Stir constantly until it comes to boil. Take off heat add butter & vanilla.

Bread Pudding w/ Vanilla sauce is best when served warm!!
ENJOY

My Mom used to cut them in half, put a slice of cheese on them and broil until melted. Very good, only a LITTLE fattening!

I usually try to make two batches when I make biscuits so that I can freeze some. Then I can get them out and bake them for breakfast really easily. They bake up just the same and taste as good.

Lol about the hockey pucks!!

I am anxiously waiting on the bread pudding recipe!! And I never thought of freezing them before I bake--what a great idea.

I micro mine with butter and honey for a few seconds.....then they are good again. But just do it for ten seconds or so.

Otherwise, the foxes get them.

I freeze them. If you know they're going to be leftovers, go ahead and freeze them before you bake them. They heat up just the same.

Er, living where you do, it ought to be obvious - hockey pucks!!! JUST KIDDING! Warm them in the oven next day for a special treat for yourself with butter and strawberry jam or honey? I've kept extra biscuits around for a couple days, and a few minutes in the oven (NOT microwave) and they are fine and tasty.
