Posted - Apr 24 2025 : 2:28:45 PM I am working on my Beginner Level merit badge. During the last national election, I followed the ballot initiatives. I realized that there are many differing opinions as to how things should be run. Even people who are on the same side of an issue have slightly differing opinions. People need to be able to make concessions in order to get the basic ballot initiative passed. All of the people on one side or the other of any initiative make concessions to get that initiative passed. This has been happening since the beginning of this Country. Not everyone was in favor of becoming a Nation free of England. Some people thought that it was a really bad idea while others were only half-heartedly supportive. Still others were totally dedicated to the idea. The way that we participate in voting is amazing! I find it so interesting that we can have such differing ideas but we are able to live in this Country and reap the benefits of the freedom that the Founding Fathers and the citizens have secured for us. |
