Posted - Jun 18 2024 : 11:05:25 AM Just trying to finish merit badges and noticed I never posted the importance of First Aid. You may be in the middle of the wilderness and not be close to medical attention. So it is important to know what to do, how to bandage up someone as well as get them to satellite. At work we take a class to help us think logical on how to apply first aid. So carry a First Aid kit with you so you have the essentials

Posted - Aug 31 2024 : 1:19:50 PM I recently took a First Aid class in both pediatric and adult first/CPR and oxygen. It was eye-opening for how important first aid is and how it can be used in multiple scenarios. It is also very important to ask for consent first if the person is conscience before doing anything. I also learned that if you are rescuing a drowning victim from a pool, lake, or ocean, the first thing you need to do if no pulse, is to give two rescue breaths before starting CPR. If there is still no pulse or breathing after that, then CPR is to be started. All in all, my class was very informative! -Emily |

Posted - Jun 24 2024 : 2:30:52 PM I always have bandages with me because of my kids, but we make sure to pack the extensive first aid kit with us when we go camping. It's very important to know what to do.

Posted - Jun 20 2024 : 05:36:27 AM Great advice Tina. I do keep a first aid kit in my trunk I volunteer at our local arboretum and being in the middle of woods surprises can happen.
