We've been shopping around, but they have either been out of our price range, sold before we could see them, or whatnot. However, Hubby is taking off work early so we can go look at one today. It's not a hard sided like I want for my backyard office (retreat), but it's practical for our family.

I'll update later on what happens.

Oh,
and the dogs approve of the camper too. However, Sadie will need a stair step to get into a bed inside. I doubt we'll take them anytime soon, but at least I know that they do like it.

We are having so much fun putting everything inside it. No more carrying a "camping tote" when we go now. It's all (almost) inside it now. Yay!

Hubby is working on the camper today. Hopefully we can take it for a "maiden one-night voyage" by ourselves tonight. The propane line needs replaced, the door repaired, and there is still a rip I need to mend (or hire someone). However, for one night I can live with duct tape.

We are finally back. Phew! It was so hot today, and Hubby wanted to check the camper air conditioner/heater/fridge, and tear it down and back up again. Oh, so hot.

We brought'er home.

It's a 1999 Coachmen pop-up with slide out (sleeps 8). We can cook on the gas stove inside or out, has a toilet, outside shower, and in pretty decent shape. There are a few things I have to clean up, and a sewing job (the dealer guys ripped the vinyl when they were sliding the bed in on one side - hmpf), but in good shape.

We plan to recharge the air conditioner, maybe recover the cushions, and maybe replace the curtains. We got it lower than the blue book price, so Hubby was pretty happy. Plus the knocked off a little for us having to repair the rip.

So, if you have experience with sewing vinyl, what type of thread do I buy? The thread looks thicker.

We need a cover for the spare tire (I have some ideas on that too).

The kids are super excited and can't wait to pop it up and clean it out. We have thunderstorms in the forecast, so I am not putting it up tonight.

I'll try to update with photos after we get it up.
