Howdy Farmgirls!

In honor of MaryJanes new book ,
Glamping with MaryJane

The River Valley Farmgirls
Invite You To

A Glamping Adventure
on my farm!

Bring your tents, your campers and join in on the fun!
September 13-16th, 2012

This is the same weekend as the Junk Bonanzahttp://junkbonanza.com/, as well as our local "Farm Pride" parade on Saturday. We will be marching farmgirl style in the parade and spreading the farmgirl love to all around us. No matter what, we'll be having a blast hanging out the rest of the weekend on our farm.

*It's primitive glamping as we aren't set up to run electricity and water to all your beautiful campers, but we think you might be able to rough it for a few days of fun! :) There are also local hotels and b&b's if you'd rather glamp that way too! Tents are also another option, as that is what me and my girls will be doing that weekend!

*We have a water hydrant for you to get water, but bring a filter for drinking! :)

*Bring your portable loo if you have one! Don't know what that is? Take a look at the MJ Glamping book! or go here: http://www.target.com/p/reliance-luggable-loo-portable-toilet/-/A-10305843 or here:http://www.amazon.com/Reliance-Products-Luggable-Portable-Gallon/dp/B000FIAPXO or here: http://www.nitro-pak.com/portable-loo-kit

*Please let me know if you are a strong yes or maybe. So I can tell the mister what we're looking at! :)

ACTIVITIES:
Junkin' at the JUNKBONANZA on Friday - http://junkbonanza.com/

Checkin' out local antique and boutique stores along the way.

Enjoyin' the Dozinky Festival on Saturday and marching in the parade farmgirl style! http://www.newprague.com/dozinky/

Glampin' it up! Glamper Tours and Awards! Time to get your "Glam" on!

CLASSES/WORKSHOPS:
Beginning Drop-Spindle Spinning Class - taught by our Alpaca lovin' local farmgirls.

Tarning and Beginning Crochet Class - taught by Diane aka "fiddleheadfarm"

Dutch Oven Cooking - Get your dutch ovens ready, we'll be learning some new campfire cooking recipes/skills!!!

Mug Rugs - Use those scraps of fabric up and make a cute rug for your mug!

Bee Tours - wanna see a real working bee hive? Get an up close and personal tour of our 2 hives here on the farm.

MEALS:

Classic Camp Food - make your own meal in classic camping fashion!

Dutch Oven Potluck - try out your dutch oven skills and serve up something tasty for all us girls to share!

Dinner Under the Stars - enjoy a luxurious "Glamping Under the Stars" dinner with April and her family.

Sunday Afternoon Picnic - bring your blanket, your basket and some grub! Enjoy your last meal of the weekend picnic style.

***All other meals are on your own. You can make them or eat out. It's up to you!***

Farmgirl Hugs,

April

April:What a hoot farmgirls. I loved it. I think at 70 that will be the last time I sleep in a tent again but I might just rent a glamper just for fun. I had a great time!

Hi Farmgirls!!
I had such a wonderful time!!! Thank you Diane & April for the photos. I haven't had the chance to go thru mine yet. I'll have to ask my son how to post them on here. It was great to meet everyone & new friendships made. April, again, thank you so much for hosting our glamp weekend!! We'll keep in touch.

Such great pictures. Beautiful memories in those pictures. It was mentioned that y'all get up EARLY. Just how early is early???????
Just wondering.

April,
You didn't need to gussy up your campsite, just put your beautiful self in there and your done! Thank you so much for hostessing this event and sharing your lovely home and family with us. The River Valley Farmgirls are an amazing group and I am happy to know you all.
On another note, I just want to say how wonderful all the youngsters that joined us were. I am always in awe at how polite, friendly and helpful home schooled children are. They also can carry on a conversation with an adult and look you in the eye. How refreshing!
I really had a good time! Thank you again!

LNaturals...Victorian Glampsite!

Marcia H. cute goat, flowers and pumpkin!

Another sweet Marcia H. vignette!

Kristie W. and her girls brought little friends to play!

Kristie's beautiful picnic table blowing in the wind.

showthemlove and her beautiful 1972 Airstream!

showthemlove is just as cute as pie and she's fixin' to get us all to sit down for some tea!

Ms. Fiddlehead Farm is brewing up some fun in the back of her cute lil' teardrop! She has such a cute setup!

Then there's me...I'm not sure why, but that amazing gale force wind decided to wreck havoc on my little set up that wasn't all gussied up yet cause I hadn't had a chance to pretty it up with all the running around I was doing getting all my farmgirls settled in....I know, I know...what's a girl to do?...

...sit a spell on my new chairs I bought at the Junk Bonanza and sip on my "cocktail" of ice and water and laugh till I have tears streaming down my face. Ain't I fancy!? Laughter makes everything better! It set the mood for the rest of the night!
