Posted - Apr 21 2013 : 8:20:26 PM Is there a way to tell what fiber an afghan is made from? I bought this lovely afghan at a Thrift over in Idaho,,, Brought it home, laundered it and it fluffed/felted(sort of) up... I think it is a natural fiber as opposed to a synthetic fiber.. I took some of the fiber fluff (in the dryer vent) and lit it with a match.. it flamed and singed but did not 'melt'... Now I just wish I could figure out if it is wool, Alpaca or even bamboo...
![](http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/Snitz/Images/DSCF9303.JPG) anyone have any ideas how to figure out what type of fiber it might be?
