I found this on Pinterest, though it was an "upload by user" so I can't quote a source for it, I even ran a quick Google search, but came up empty. It's pretty basic and directions shouldn't be needed.

If you could find lids the right sizes, you could spray paint them the "right" colors. They are cute!

I know I could find lids in thrift shops . . I spend a lot of time in them. But that is the problem . . most of what I've seen there just aren't what I'd like to use. However, I'm a regular customer, so there is always next time . . I hope!

Very cute! My problem would be finding enough lids I thought cute enough! Just made a tea towel hanger out of one for Christmas towel.
