If you were felting socks and wanted to get as much "fabric" out of the process as possible, would you cut the socks open and then felt or just throw them in, as is? I'm assuming that the next pair I knit, I will need to knit in some reinforcement (right?)

Posted - Jan 11 2010 : 3:06:04 PM Angie, I've never felted wool socks before but I've felted alot of wool sweaters. I usually just throw them in the washer the was they are, on the hot water setting. Then after they are felted I can cut them up to repurpose them and they don't unravel. If you have any other questions about the process let me know. Dana
