Thought I'd post this as a new topic and see if we can get some interest.
Linda (yarnmamma) suggested getting another swap going. I'll be hosting this so I posted the information below.

Here are SWAP rules, dates etc.

1. We will limit this to 15 people and sign ups will be until September 6 th.

2. We will each make a set 50 yo yos.

3. Have them sent to me postmarked no later than September 27th. (email me for address)

4. When finished you will mail to me: your yo yos, a self addressed pre-postaged envelope for mailing them back to you. If you DO NOT send postage you will NOT receive the yo yos back. If you are late I will send back your own package.

***Please be considerate when signing up. If you cannot make the deadline please reconsider doing the swap as it causes a long wait for others when things are not done in a timely manner.***

I know some of these sound rigid, but rudeness is not my intent. In order to have a good swap we need to honor our commitments and make them a priority.

This is the list so far:

1. Levisgrammy
2. yarnmamma
3. ContraryWife
4. shepherdess
5. Firemama

Hi everyone, I just started a topic asking about what you do with your yoyos. I am loving mine and can't stop making them. I think about all of you also when I see them on my in-progress quilt.
:-)
I want to hear about your projects!

I'd love to have some Christmas yoyos...I'm just not organized enough to lead the swap. I love using yoyos that my farmgirl sisters have made!

Linda,
I am willing but very busy right now. Dd and her hubby are moving into a new place the end of this month and between work and home and trying to see how we can help and I don't think I'd be able to host one just now. Maybe we could work on one in November for Christmas? I think I could it then.

Yes! I got them...sorry I must have forgotten to tell you. They are all so lovely...I enjoy them soooo much!!! I have sewn them all up together and added more...I'm making a quilt. The yoyos are sewn together on 6 sides so there is no gap. It takes lots of hand stitching but it makes a nice solid warm quilt.
Thanks so much Denise!! Are you willing to do another yoyo swap?

Just a quick note on the Fall swap. I have been very busy at work and haven't been getting much done at home, so I am going to have to bow out of hosting the Fall swap.

Robin,
They will probably show up today. I didn't realize you were in WA till I looked to see where you'd be sending from. Your waaay on the other side girl. I'd love to see a picture of the scenery in your state. Dh and I wanted to get stationed in Bremmerton when he was in the Navy but never did. Are you anywhere near there?

glad ya got them

I'm starting on a couple yoyo projects.
Just finished making a wall hanging from last year's Halloween yoyos.
I like it!
Now I am starting on a vest for me out of dark colors and a quilt with the rest of the colors. I'd love to have a whole yoyo quilt!

I can't do fall, but would love to do a Christmas one... Somehow I end up doing Christmas quilts all the time, and this would be a great way to help use up my stash and fun, too!
levisgrammy Posted - Sep 27 2008 : 1:50:26 PM
If you all would like me to host the Fall one I am willing. Unless of course, someone else would like to host it. I will wait to get the yo yos from this swap, get them mailed out, and hear from you about hosting before posting info on another one.

I mailed mine out yesterday! Whew...made the deadline. I even remembered the postage! :0)
Now to start on the fall theme. I am assuming the fall theme starts soon?
I hope so because fall colors are my favorite!

Do you think we'll be able to do a Christmas one? I am making ornaments with last year's Christmas yoyos. I am putting 5 together joined in all the middle of the backs...it gives a rounded shape. Some have a smaller yoyo added to each center...and some have a button. I think they would work good with just the yoyos.
