Ladies!
I just received my new issue of Better Homes and Gardens "American Patchwork & Quilting"
On the cover is a cute pumpkin block and flying geese block quilt.
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in swapping just the pumpkin block.

http://www.allpeoplequilt.com/images/img_oct-08-colg_7.jpg

The block is 10 1/2" with the seam allowances.
fabric needed:
4 each : 1 1/2 x 1 1/2" tan/cream - back ground
2 each : 2 1/2 X 4 1/2" tan/cream - back ground
1 each : 2 1/2 x 2 1/2" brown - stem
1 each : 8 1/2 X 10 1/2" orange - pumpkin

If we do this the blocks would be due October 1st! Now this will be a strict due date! NO EXCEPTIONS.

Sign ups end August 10th.

Let me know if you want to swap and I will email you my version of the directions on how to construct the block. Or you can just pick up a copy of "American Patchwork and Quilting" at your local newstand.

Michelle!
Thanks for the visual...now I'm thinking as I walk to the mail box..."Here, punkin, punkin, punkin..." Alas, no punkin blocks for me either! Maybe on Monday! I can't wait!

Maybe I'll make something out of them soon...and maybe I'll update my blog! ...well, one can dream!

Puzzled. Mine aren't here yet. I'm sure you sent them, it must be a delay with the post office. That sometimes happens here, especially with anything over the size of a bill. Those get here just fine, but fun stuff? Just gotta laugh. Or DH picked up the mail and forgot to get my package out of his bermuda triangle truck. I'll do some sleuthing and see if I can't find where they snuck off to. Here punkin punkin punkin...

I am so glad that the pumpkins are find their way home to everyone. I hope to see a few photos when you have made your quilts or wall hangings or whatever you all plan to make.

I am going to a gourd crafting class.
My daughter and I will be making a bird feeder. This should be fun.
I will post photos.

I got mine too, they're wonderful. Not sure how they'll be used (or how soon, more like it) as it's busy sewing time getting Christmas sewing started.

I hope to start my sashing this weekend. I have a black print and a brown print. I first need to audition the blocks to make sure it looks ok.

But first…. I am making a costume for my daughter. It’s a pirate. She is a pain. I am altering more then constructing it. Make it longer…make it tighter…I don’t like those buttons….are you done yet?????
This is supposed to be a hobby. My fun time. Next year she can be a ghost. I have a white sheet. Ill cut holes in it….

I got mine over the weekend but was gone in Wyoming! When we got home I saw a familiar looking envelope and ran for the mail box, but hubby got there first. We had a very comic scene where I was holding Nora and trying to jump and grab the mail from his hands and he kept circling away from me saying "I haven't discerned who it is for yet!" LOL I finally grabbed it out of his hands and yay! I probably won't be able to make it for a while though!

Ladies,
I have sorted out all the blocks last night!
Most of the packages were placed in the big blue mail box next to the post office this morning! I have three packages that need to go inside for postage. I should have time at lunch this afternoon.
OH one thing.....No you are not seeing double....Nicole and Vickie used the same fabric for there pumpkins. Now I know they weren’t looking in each others sewing rooms because Indiana and Utah are not that close. And then I noticed that someone used the same brown as I did.
OH my blocks... you will be receiving three from me. Early on I had one person drop out. Now that’s ok. I usually expect one to drop. Life happens and we can't always control that. So I made two blocks. I sent a note out to everyone that I had not received blocks from. I did not get a response from one person. I waited as long as I could. So, one of my blocks is not assembled. I cut the fabric and pinned it together. I'm sorry I just did not have the time to assemble them and get our packages out today. I hope that is ok with everyone.
Well, I would like to thank all of you for joining my swap. I truly enjoy hosting. I think the best part is receiving all the packages in the mail. Thank you all for the little gifts. They are greatly appreciated.
So.....I am going to take a break for a few months. Let one of you other ladies host a swap or two. OH I will join in on the swaps, I am just not going to not host for a while.
(Well except for my current CHARM SWAP 6 1/2" fabric blocks) I am trying to collect enough fabric to make a patch work blanket.

Oh Yay! I was starting to get really stressed because when I dropped them off was after hours so I had to use an automated thingy and put them in a rotating drum kindof like the night deposit at banks, but after I had already put them in the slot, I found the lever wasn't working so I started sweating it a bit worrying that maybe the package was still stuck in that drum and perhaps an out-of-order sign had fallen off. So glad they got there! Now I can stop worrying! LOL

All sounds cozy and great. Thanks for the info about what a charm is. I did wonder. I'll have to check it out along with my calendar and see if I can faithfully squeeze in just one more before the end of the year. :)

well, i must have completely botched this whole thing..I think I sent 16, and kept none of my own...jeez...leave it to me tho not remember all the rules in sending this one in!!!

Thanks for checkin my blog KAthy, and thanks for the compliments on my kiddos, I think they are a pretty fun bunch to hang with.

I will be on the look out for the blocks as I feel I am in full fall mood. This weekend we froze our buns off at the soccer fields, came home to warm baths adn cozy footy pajamas, made corn bread in an iron skillet, adn a big pot of chicken noodle soup and hot apple cider. Pretty fall feeling foods to me, so bring on the blocks!
