Would anyone else be interested in knitting or crocheting some artful caps for Julia Hayes little girl Aria? She is undergoing chemotherapy now. The extra caps that Julia receives can be donated to the PICU at the hospital where Aria is having her treatment.

Here's a link to some pictures of Aria:
http://www.maryjanesfarm.com/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16603
A link to the Family Matters topic Julia is updating on..
http://www.maryjanesfarm.com/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16878

I am finding out what her favorite colors are as well as sizing but feel free to look at the cap patterns out there that are for 2 to 5 year olds. What doesn't fit Aria will definitely be enjoyed by another child.

From what I'm reading an adult cap (20-22") will fit her..most patterns are saying what the measurements are and the ones that are not are saying an age range.

I really believe that personal Farmgirl packages from all of us will be very uplifting. That way she and Aria can enjoy surprise mail along the way. Then Julia and Aria can make personal donations with the extras that she receives. Kind of like a "pay it forward" effect!

Involvement as of Saturday evening, January 26th:

*queenofdreamsz4u ~ Stephanie (crochet)
*utahfarmgirl ~ Patricia (working on a special doll)
*holiday angel ~ Pauline
*therusticcottage ~ Kay (knitting)
*tammyclaxton ~ Tammy (crochet)
*mikesgirl ~ Sherri (donating one of her crocheted brim hats!)
*auntjenny ~ Jenny
*yarnmamma ~ Linda (crochet)
*plumcreekmama ~ Heather (sewing a cap & a yo-yo doll)
*lilyblossom ~ Donna (knitting)
*Stephany ~ Kay's daughter (knitting)
*peggysue ~ Peggy
*queenbee ~ Mary Jane & *cabin-creek kentucky ~ Frannie....Mary Jane adopted one of Frannie's dollies to send to Aria

At the very end of the page are two very cute hates that would look darling on Aria. I don't have the skills to offend anyone with my crochet attempts, but I thought you'd all maybe get some inspiration from them

These stretch to fit an adult so they should work. It is a double rib with a cast on 84 stitch..

Some of my girls will be sending some boxes of hats off this week and some will be following through at other intervals. As soon as we get settled into our new shop and homes this weekend we will be sending boxes more. This will keep the hospitals busy as well. (at least for a bit)
I knitted one yesterday but am not so sure after stitching it if it was exactly the right size but am sure it will fit others there. I am used to knitting new born's hats and booties which take me a day to do a set.
Anyway, just wanted you to know we are getting onto it.
They will all be sent in honor of Aria..
Hugs,
Pauline

Hey Stephanie,

I just measured my daughters' head. She just turned 5 a month ago so she is close to Aria's age. Anyway, Ally's head measures 20''. So I'm sure that between 20-22'' would work great for Aria. I hope this helps everyone. I'm using Ally as my hat model now.

Thank you Stephanie. I now have the addresses posted and that they are to be donated in Aria's honor. Thank you for sharing this need and we will see if we can get this moving very quickly. Peggy Sue is also with us so whichever way she donates I trust her to do so.
Bless you all and hugs,
Pauline

Hey Everyone,

I've made a list at the first post on this topic with everyone's names and if you are crocheting or knitting or whatever else has been mentioned.

Please read it to let me know if you are in or out on this..got a few question marks by a few names..didn't want to assume anything where you didn't actually say.

Post here or email me...

Talk to ya later,
Stephanie

Alright, where ever we send it just email me an address and also if you would like some hats donated in her name to a hospital send me the address of a hospital. We would love to share her love and encouragement to others. Yes, I am very aware of this struggle but also know the joy of the completion of the process. My daughter was 28 with stage three breast cancer and two children, but is a survivor and still on some of the treatment as it hasn't been so long. Tech has come a long way and she worked most of the time she went through the treatments as I sat by her side while they were doing them at the hospital. It is a hard thing to watch no matter how old your daughter or child.
Just send the addresses and we will send whatever we can!!
God bless,
Pauline
