Hi ya'll, Onionhead here from good ol' Oklahoma. I have to tell ya I am loving this place.......so homey and comfy cozy feeling. It's nice to get togeter with spirits just like mine! Anyways, enough chitter-chatter.....I'm left handed and know just a teeny bit about knitting....I have the left handed how to book, but there's that knot at the end of each knit I can't quite figure out and looks so odd.....I know I'm not understanding the book right, but any advice for a left hander.....I know through words it might be hard to give advice, but it's worth a shot to ask!

It sounds like you are knitting continental.

Hey Onionhead! I learned to knit this past year, and I'm a lefty, too. However, I think that I knit "continentally", that is, actually knitting with my right hand. I had to actually take a lesson--it really helped me to "see" it, and to have someone "show" my hands what to do. I bought the Stich and B**** book and though the instructions were easy to read, I found it very difficult to make my hands DO it. Good luck. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "knot", so I'm hesitant to offer any assistance :)

I am left handed but knit right handed (I am sure I am not much help) But I wonder when your knitting if you are not holding the yarn on the right side of your work. Is this knot after every stitch worked or every row worked?
Also go to http://knittinghelp.com they have tons of free video's to watch and lots of info. They also have a new forum just for knitters!!! Anyway God bless, Mary
