Posted - Nov 15 2016 : 05:55:55 AM I love making an annual Mary Jane's Farmgirl Christmas Stocking. I decided it was time to get started on my stocking this year and make it a swap.
Here are the Swap Guidelines: 1. Either Make or Buy an 18-24 inch Christmas Stocking and embellish it. 2. When you sign up for this swap, please state your preference of Religious, Traditional, or Both or indicate the main colors in your holiday decorating. 3. List 6 items that you collect or would like to receive in your stocking. Each Partner will need to purchase or make at least 4 of those items; and then you can include whatever extras you wish. 4. Each gift is to be individually wrapped and put in the stocking. 5. Please also enclose a Christmas Card for your Partner. 6. Sign-Ups will begin Now and will go until Nov.30th.
Partners will be posted on December 1st. The package should be mailed out by December 15th.
When the Stocking has been received, post a picture for all of us to enjoy.
Let's all have fun with this one.

I did the pairing a little differently because there were an odd number of participants. So the deal is the one on the giver side of the list gives to the one on the recipient side of the list.

Posted - Dec 30 2016 : 7:39:12 PM RoDonna, your wonderful stocking arrived today. I'm just loving checking the mail box each day this week, I seem to have had a special treat each day.
Thank you so much for all the wonderful goodies. I love peppermint tea and I was just about out. I'm sipping some right now. The apple corer/slicer is perfect as one of my favourite desserts is apple crumble. All the lovely kitchen utensils will be put to good use and I shall enjoy using the cookie cutters. The neck warmer is perfect as we are supposed to have another cold spell next week. The Christmas clips are really cute. I love the smell of the candle scents. The mason jar lids and straws are great, water bottles always seem to vanish around here while I have a large supply of jars. I'm feeling really spoiled right now. Thank you so much. You did an amazing job finding things that I like and will enjoy using. I hope you and your family have a very Happy New Year and a great beginning to 2017.
Farmgirl hugs,

Posted - Dec 26 2016 : 04:53:43 AM I am thrilled that you like everything! I had fun shopping for you, and some of the gifts were just waiting for the right person and time. The little Bundt pan was bought in Nuremburg several years ago. You always had the neatest stuff when we were young, and you still do!

Posted - Dec 24 2016 : 09:10:52 AM I received my package from Vanessa a few days ago and finally have time to post some pictures.
I couldn't tell whether she bought it and embellished it herself or made the whole thing herself. She told me that she made it. It is perfect and is the fourth Christmas Stocking I have received from this swap. It will be proudly displayed with all the others.
She showered me with gifts as only a sister can. I will start describing from the left: - vintage nail kit (pictured below) - two sets of note cards - note pad and pen set - a pair of soft socks with rubber dot soles - vintage sewing tools (once belonging to my grandmother - pictured below) - Styracosaur dinosaur - package of tiny dinosaurs - small cross stitched stocking with a tiny ornament (pictured below) - a handkerchief
Vanessa and I shared a bedroom for 17 years, we helped each other thru all kinds of tough stuff and we've always been there for each other. She lives in Florida and I miss having her nearby.

Posted - Dec 16 2016 : 12:18:28 PM Winnie, I'm so glad that you liked your stocking. I had a lot of fun filling it. I loved the tractor ornament when I saw it and thought of your user name. The driver was rather Santa Claus looking, so I got my daughter to give me a hand painting his overalls pink (she has much steadier hands than I do for painting) and then I made the little pink toque and scarf. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and New Years too.

All I can say is WOW! I had to clear off more space on my table to show everything! Thank you Marcy for all the goodies you sent with the lovely Christmas stocking. I've decorated my workplace with the ornaments and will make some hot cocoa soon. I've leafed through the cross stitch books and I've seen some future projects. And the little trinket boxes are lovely! The swap was the best ever!

Posted - Dec 15 2016 : 1:16:59 PM WooHoo, Santa stopped by to visit me today. Jill, thank-you so much for so many wonderful goodies!!! I feel totally spoiled with everything. She made a giant stocking and stuffed it with the following: Christmas panel for crafting, holiday notepad, hankies for my purse, cute cupcake papers, a cross stitch kit, a darling embroidered kitchen towel and knitted dishcloth, a "flashing ice cube for for fun", a darling ornament of a red tractor with a girl driving (Jill knitted a cap and scarf to keep me warm) yummy peppermint bark and a little container of chocolates. My husband immediately broke into the candy and the bark is delicious! Check out this stocking!
My kitty was also curious about what was happening on the sofa and you can see him peeking over the sofa edge. He is my little buddy and nothing new goes without his inspection !! LOL
Thank-you Jill for being my swap partner and for sending me such a lovely stocking!! I hope you an your family have a ver Merry Christmas and a happy and Healthy New year!!

Posted - Dec 15 2016 : 09:42:29 AM Kelly,
Thank you so much for the lovely stocking and goodies. I have the elves hanging in my craft room, I am going leave them out all year long! They are way too cute to hide away. Love the chocolate, you seriously cannot go wrong with me and chocolate. The socks are perfect, especially now when it's supposed to get below zero here in the next few days! I'm going to have to try the yummy tea and I love the homemade card, so pretty. I was oohing and aahing over the Lemax figure. I've never seen that one before and it fits in perfect with my village.
Thank you for such a wonderful package! hugs, Marcy

Posted - Dec 12 2016 : 5:15:00 PM Kelly, the crocheted item is actually a bath pouf. I thought it would go perfectly with the soap that was included. :-) I'm glad you enjoyed it all. This swap was so much fun, I think I may just have to check out a few others. I know I'll participate in this one again next year.

Kathleen--
I received your package today. THANK YOU! When I signed up for this swap, I didn't really have a clue on what to expect. Wow...I was pleasantly surprised. I've been smiling since I opened the box. :-) After looking at everything, I just wanted to hang the stocking on our mantle, put the hat ornament on the tree, light the candle, mix up a cup of hot chocolate, and sit and marvel at it all. You are just too kind. I'm sure I'll be able to use the soaps and wash cloth too. The bracelet fits too. Perfect! Again, thank you. You made my day!
