Thought I'd share a pic of my cards. This is a large picture frame I put wire and buttons on for an ATC (Artist Trading Cards) display. Decided to use it to display my postcards. There are a few ATCs included.
Thanks for the fun swap!
CJ

11/05/16 SIGNUPS CLOSED for this swap.
To those of you who have signed up . . . I'll be getting back with you with names and addresses but just so you know:
There are TWELVE PARTICIPANTS in this swap . . so you know how many postcards to prepare! This number would include yourself, so you will mail ELEVEN postcards, one of them will go to a Farmgirl in Canada.
THANKS MUCH!

P.S. I just sent the list via email to all of you. Let me know if there are errors in your info.
CJ

Hi Farmgirls,
Several of us have had a lot of fun with the annual POSTCARD swap each summer for several years and some of the participants have requested that we do a Christmas Postcard swap using recycled Christmas cards.

So, the idea is to make your postcards from old Christmas cards, following the USPS guidelines for size. At least 3 1/2 x 5 inches and no larger than 4 1/4 x 6 inches. You can finish them, embellish them in any manner you like. SUGGESTION: If you embellish, I would suggest mailing them in an envelope.

Because it is for Christmas and we all get pretty busy this will be limited to FIFTEEN postcard swappers. That is so that you'll not be too overwhelmed with making the postcards, as you will send ONE POSTCARD TO EACH PARTICIPANT.

- SIGNUPS are NOW OPEN, will close on NOVEMBER 5th.
- PLEASE EMAIL ME YOUR:
- "Real" name
- forum name
- mailing address
- email address

I will compile a mailing list and email it to all of you.

MAILOUT DEADLINE IS: NOVEMBER 30th. Start now so you'll be ready BEFORE the deadline.

*SPECIAL NOTE: Being able to make the cards and mail to ALL participants is important for swap follow through.

Let's send each other some Christmas cheer!
CJ

Judy - I did not get another postcard out to you yet, please forgive me. A close neighbor passed and it has been a whirlwind of activity these past couple of days, between funeral stuff and appointments. I am backed up right through Friday. Will try to get to it in the evening, but trying to catch up on chores and the holiday stuff as well, as I am hosting a full house of company all weekend. Will be in touch soon. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. I really did mess this one up, and feel terrible about it. Big hugs to you. Nini

Well, I hope you girls have enjoyed this swap. It's been a spirit-lifter for me! Today I'll try to post a pic of my display.

I've received Christmas cards in the mail now and have been "eyeing" them for doing this swap next year!
What say you girls?

Oh, Joyce! I am so sorry - and SO frustrated!!! I just emailed CJ because I realized early this morning: I have been using those US Forever stamps when mailing all my holiday cards, etc. I am wondering if perhaps they aren't accepted for Canadian mail for some reason. If so, then that may be our problem! My stepdad is a retired postman, so I will give him a call today and see what his take is on this whole thing. My husband said he distinctly remembers me putting two stamps on an envelope I mailed last week, and if he is correct (his memory is not golden), then it had to be your envelope, and that would have been more than enough postage to get to you. I did the same with the original postcard I sent. This is just so upsetting. I have no problem making you another, but before I do, I want to be sure I'm mailing them properly. I feel so badly about this!!! I know we've been other swaps together, and I know we've never encountered such a problem! But the Forever stamps - I am wondering if that is an issue!!!

I'll be in touch soon! Let's hope and pray you miraculously receive it today! 'Tis the season, after all!

SO sorry for the inconvenience, dear sister!!! Please forgive me!

Hugs -

Nini

Nini - don't worry about it :) Why don't we wait to see if it comes. I'm sure I won't be charged extra :) As for the address...how is it a little different? I don't know remember what I wrote...haha!

Ooooooh NOOOOOOOO!!! Joyce! I just realized: I don't know if I added extra postage when I mailed your postcard (the second one - in an envelope)!!!!! UGH!!! What should I do? Should I send another one or should we wait and see if you get it? UGH! I cannot for the life of me believe I did that!!! I am so, so sorry! If you do receive it and are charged for any extra, I will most definitely reimburse you... I can't believe this! Ohhhhhh maaaaaannnn... Maybe I should just make another to be safe? Please let me know!

Also, Joyce, I noticed when I received your postcard that the return address is a little different on the envelope you sent is a little different than the address that I had received from CJ... I don't know whether I missed an update or if that is okay, but please let me know.

I am just sick about this...

Darlene - Did you receive yours yet? I mailed the second ones out to you and Joyce at the same time, but I know hers takes a while longer...

Ever feel like you're trying to run uphill while the incline is getting steeper and steeper? Oyoyoy!

Hugs and MUCH love, believe me! -

Nini, don't stress about the postcard. Whenever is fine with me. It's to bad it got lost somewhere or put in someone else's mailbox.

Darlene and Joyce - I sincerely apologize again! I have such a full schedule this week, and this past weekend was not my own at all! This is why I tried to get them done early - I knew I would be steamrolled this month with appointments and "must do's". Please bear with me - your new postcards are right at the top of me list, I promise you! I will try to get them done by Friday. You both are being so gracious, and I appreciate that. I just can't help feeling badly that you didn't receive yours!!!! UGH!!!

This past weekend I received lovely postcards from Brenda and Lisa! Thank you so, so much, girls! Love them!
