Welcome to the themed 10" square (layer cake in the quilt shop world) fabric swap. This swap involves no sewing (your project is determined by what you want to make with your fabric squares) - only buying fabric and cutting it into 10" squares. Please buy 100% cotton quilting fabric and cut off all selvages before cutting squares so there is NO selvage in the 10" squares. (NOTE: The selvages are the two tightly woven edges of the fabric - opposite the folded edge.)

This swap is for 10" squares of Fall/Autumn-themed Fabrics. Each person who signs up will send 2 different 10" squares of Fall/Autumn-themed fabric to each of the other farm girls who sign up. A yard of fabric will make 12 squares, so the amount of fabric you will need to purchase will depend on how many sign up. Please join in - all are welcome.

NOTE: NO Halloween fabric - fall/autumn only - pumpkins, leaves, Indian corn, turkeys?, etc.

Signups begin today: August 30
Signups end: Noon, September 16
Mail out by: September 26

NOTE: Please mail out PROMPTLY so that Fall/Autumn table runners or other items can be completed for the holidays.

If you have not yet participated in one of my 10" fabric swaps, when you sign up by posting in this thread, please immediately send me your name/address/phone. The name/address is so I can send a complete list to each farm girl; the phone number is only in case I need to contact you for any reason.

We have been enjoying these swaps and it is fun seeing all the different fabrics we choose. I hope you will join us.

NOTE: When you join in, please "Subscribe" to this topic so that you will receive all communication regarding the topic. And we all like to hear from you when you send out fabric and when you receive fabric.

You can go to the "Showcase" thread for projects made with these 10" squares to post what you make and see what others have made using our themed squares. http://maryjanesfarm.org/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=73817

Hay there.

Mz Diana, my squares did not go out a few days ago as I had promised. I am very sorry. Cows started calving and I had a hole in their new pasture fence to fix. I am working on getting all my swaps done tonight and in the morning before I head out to the cows again. This drought has me doing extra work during the time of year that I can usually can catch my breath. So sorry for them being so delayed.

Hugs and prayers, Daizy #1093

I think I'm gonna use this pattern for my fall squares. It's called "Simple Layer Cake". I purchased the pattern on Craftsy. If you'd like it I"ll gladly email the PDF to you. My email for a request is ckm57@me.com
I'd like to eventually have a quilt for each holiday/season.

I believe I received all the squares except Daizy's en route. Thank you all so much, this was my 1st fabric swap and so much fun!! I think I am going to follow Linda's lead, as I have a small panel type piece in fall colors with white tailed deer - I think that will be a focal piece & I will add your blocks all around. Scored another leaf fabric at a yard sale with enough yardage to be the backing. It will take me awhile, I'm a newbie, but looking forward to this!

Sadly, even with insurance there is little satisfaction with the postal service or UPS.

Thanks for thinking of me Daizy! It hasn't arrived yet, I will be sure to let you know when it comes! You are so kind. I wonder what happens to all the things that fall out of envelopes & packages? One time my in-laws sent something to the children & all that came was a plastic envelope with our two addresses & a postal note that said it appeared damaged, lol what an understatement!

Hay there,

I got your fabrics today, Mz Angie. So pretty. I like the whimsy of the turkeys and the loose pattern of the pumpkins. Nice. Thank you.

I have been amazed at how all but two squares are different. That's just awesome!. Thanks, to everyone, for a great swap!!

Deb, I received your Fall fabrics yesterday! Wow! They are so pretty! Certainly reminds me of the beautiful Fall nature colors we saw on our trip to Michigan last week! And, they are not too late. I plan to whip up a gift with them! You are so blessed with your DH and Son! How sweet of them to help. (I think my DH would do that too) Good luck with your surgery.

I received fabric yesterday from Deb thank you!! I am thankful for all the lovely autumn fabrics, they are all so beautiful. I went on a mini road trip Sunday to see my niece who moved a couple of hours away, so lovely to look at the beautiful fall colors! It was a welcome break. I was blessed to see my niece and help cheer her up a bit and meet her new blue heeler puppies Chester and Leroy, silly puppy brothers rolling in the leaves and chasing each other around it was a great day. All the fabrics remind me of the beautiful colors this year.

Thank you all!!

Finally getting caught up with posting. Yes I was the mystery sender of the fabric that is green with the little leaves on it. Guess my address labels didn't stay attached or they were forgotten. So sorry about that.

Thank You again to everyone for the wonderful fabrics. Not sure what I'm going to make yet.

Linda such a lovely fall wall hanging. Love how you used the squares around the panel. Looks very nice.

Good morning all- Just wanted you all to know that my squares are late and I apologize!! I thought I had posted as I did with my other swaps to give you a heads up and it looks like I did not. They will go out tomorrow morning. I had an unexpected road trip with my hubby and then a work conference for 3 days. Again I apologize!!!
