Hi girls!

Here’s another fun, creative swap project for us, girls: a St. Patrick’s Day themed altered CD!!! Basically, you cover both sides of a CD with paper, then embellish in a St. Patrick’s Day theme. You can punch a hole in the top and add ribbon for hanging, or create a little prop on the back (as you would see on a picture frame) so it can be displayed on a table or shelf. SO much fun to make - it's one of my personal favorite projects! ‘Just to give you an idea of what one looks like, here are pics of one I made a few years back for the Mail Art Swap:

You can also find plenty of other examples online for inspiration! <Doesn’t this look like fun?!>

Sign up for this swap will end February 15th.

Partners will be assigned February 17th.

Altered CDs will need to be mailed out by February 27th.

If you'd like to add special little tuck-ins, that is okay, but PLEASE know they are absolutely NOT required and should NOT be expected. I honestly think these adorable CDs will be the greatest little St. Patrick’s Day gifts in themselves, don't you?!

I hope you'll join in the fun! I can’t wait to see all of our creations!

Hugs -

Nini

I'd love to make homemade corned beef. I've used Mary Janes recipe and it is fabulous. Probably never will do corned beef from the store again. However, things are not looking like that it will happen. Too much going on and the brisket needs to brine for 2-3 days. And, I'm headed to Phoenix to visit my daughter on the 18th.
Oh well!

Girls - I am so spoiled! The day before yesterday I received a lovely box filled with a profusion of Irish green from Sharon. Check out all the cool things she MADE! Too talented for words....

I have to apologize in advance because I am having SUCH a heck of a time with my camera. The pictures just don't do her handiwork justice. Sharon - I just love my CD - it's absolutely lovely and is adorning one of my lampshades right now as I type ('Just LOVE the images and the golden sparkle and the crepe paper ruffle! And can't wait to try the candy recipe!)! The cupcake picks are not only adorable - I think their ingenious! (EVERYONE who has seen them adores them! I am definitely going to make those for other holidays, too! SUCH a great idea!) Michael's soaps are wonderful (So freshly scented and soothing on the skin! A big shout out to Michael - THANK YOU, BROTHER!), the blackberry balsamic vinegar you made is to DIE for! (My foster daughter was here this morning and went as nuts over it as I did!), the dish cloth and towel are lovely and perfect for my green and white kitchen - how DID you know?! And the bird card! SO pretty! You spoil me! I can't thank you enough for everything! I can't believe how creative and crafty you are! I want to be you when I grow up! ;) But seriously, you are SUCH a blessing, sister!

Love you dearly, Sharon - and thanks again for being such a wonderful swap partner! I will treasure your CD for many, many St. Patrick's Days to come! :)

Hugs -

Nini - Uh, that is, Nini O'Betters! LOL! ;)

Nini, that IS odd, I always had that meal for St. Patty's day growing up. I thought that was just what you had. Ha! Only 13 days to go! :)

I'm sooo happy you like it, Sharon! I really enjoyed making this for you! I have always had such a soft spot for St. Patrick and celebrating St. Patrick's Day - these CDs are just such a neat way to share that joy! :)

Thank you, Darlene - I really had fun with this one! I always pray before - and while - I am crafting... I could never do this on my own, if you know what I mean! ;)

Oh, Erin! Irish soda bread, too - OF COURSE!!! I am planning on making homemade corned beef this year instead of buying one in a package - I'm heading out to the butcher for a brisket on Tuesday! Wish me a little luck o'the Irish! ;) AND I'm going to try making my Irish soda bread with the Einkorn wheat that just arrived last week, isn't that cool?! I'm so excited! I swear every St. Patrick's Day I can hear my grandmother's voice guiding me in preparing the corned beef and cabbage - oh, how she savored every bite. It was a special meal to both of us! I just can't wait! And I swear, my husband and son have a little jig to their step the closer we get to the big day - this is one of their favorite meals ever!!! You know what, though? It's so weird! We are the ONLY people we know who do corned beef and cabbage here where we live!!! My son's friends have never had it, our friends and my in-laws have never had it, it's just so strange to me! But you can bet there are always a few people stopping by and helping to pass the plate! LOL! It's almost unbearable having to wait sixteen more days!!!

Well, now I'M hungry!!! Sixteen days... Only sixteen more blustery cold, snowy days!!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, girls!

I have been blessed with a beautiful altered CD from dear Nini, along with the CD I received the sweetest Mary Engelbreit card and some Twinings Irish Breakfast tea (it appears that there is a theme among swappers in the tea department:))

Here photos of the goodies I received. The second and third photos are of the front and back of the CD.
Thank you again Nini for swapping with me and being a wonderful swap hostess!
