Dogs and Christmas are two of my favorite things! When I can combine the two of them -- that's wonderful.

Let's do a swap for our best canine friends for Christmas. The package should include a toy, a treat (or package of them), and a little something for the dog mom. Other tucks are always enjoyed, but not expected.

So -- send me your name and contact information, your dog's name and breed, as well as any dietary restrictions your swap partner should work around.

I'm so excited that my little Truffle will get a package.

(I know that some of you will want to have a swap for your cats and rabbits and so forth, but I'd like this one to be just "for the dogs." You can always start another swap for other treasured pets!)

I always have some dog treats in the car for my guys and other new dog friends we make along the way. One day my husband discovered a new bag in the door pocket. They looked like people sandwich cookies so he had a couple. His complaint -- a little dry. My son loves to try the treats I make and offer suggestions.

Too fun!

Have a happy, safe new year!

Yes. I, my sister (Audra Rose) and my brother ate dog biscuits together once. We loved them especially the red ones.

I had the pleasure of being a part of the dog treat swap this year. I sent off a missive to Rita and Albert but did not post here. Rita, you may enjoy this story.

I told Rita that Whiskey, my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter had a great time opening all of the wonderful gifts. I did too! Since it was just before dinner I moved all of the gifts to another area. The round container of dog bone treats went to our bedroom because that is where Whiskey sleeps with us and I wanted them handy for her. They are the cutest things. Some are dark brown and remind me of gingerbread. Some are light brown and a couple even look as though they are dipped in frosting. But I digress.

My husband Barry came out of the bedroom the other day just a chewing away. As he walked toward the kitchen for a glass of milk he told me that the cookies I had left for him were a little dry. He said they weren't bad mind you, just a little dry. How's that for diplomacy, ha? Anyway, when I looked at what he was eating (my frown must have tipped him off) I told him that he was eating Whiskey's treats. He was aghast and told me he thought I had left him a treat and had set him up....I laughed my butt off. Needless to say his walk led him to the garbage can instead of the frig....LOL.

Having eaten dog biscuits all of the time as a child I thought his comment stating they were a little dry and not bad made perfect sense....Anyone else eat dog biscuits as a child?

Blessings in the new year...take time to smell the coffee as you eat your biscuits....

Hi Diana :-) Thank You again for everything. You spoiled us. I tried to snap a picture of her playing with the bone & crinkle toy but every time I snap the shutter she moves & it blurs :-( I'll keep trying ;-)

I think it is a hit. As soon as I walked in the door( I've been in the hospital a week) Trixi brought me her toy to show me. She says thanks to Oskar Meyer and Vanessa

Oh my goodness, Karen and Truffle spoiled Pip (and me) rotten! Look at all the goodies! Pip has loved his rhino, the second picture is Pip with it. He cracks us up because he carries it around by the tail, and he loves to snuggle on the couch with the blankie. I love the cookbook, the Christmas ornaments, magnet...so much to list! And I adore the mug (funny, we both got each other the same mug! Great minds think alike).

A big hug and shout out to Karen for organizing this swap. This was one of the most fun to put together.

Nicole

So huddy brought the box to me... I LOVE IT..... I promised Trixi I would let her open her gift, but the popcorn is great. Hubby thinks he is going to get to take the bag home with him. He is WRONG. Thanks again Vanessa

Rita got it correct. It is a bird feeder with a cover. Need to make a cover for mine now. I love the fact that pictures are posted. I don't know how to do that yet. I'm jealous...not...but would love to know how to do it:)

Dear Michelle and Trixi,
Oskar and Spirit loved the toys and the yummy treats we got today (Spirit hauled the squeaky fox under the bed to keep it for herself). I can't wait to make hip huggers bars or cookies with the pecans and add the honey to my tea.
This was a great package, thank you so much!

You are very welcome Mary Jo. I am glad you are enjoying the cowl. Laney thought you needed it when you went for walks with Sunny. Merry Christmas to you and Sunny.

Albert and I received our package from Terra and Whiskey. Thank you Terra, Whiskey and Barry for the wonderfully thoughtful gifts. Albert is happily chewing away on his toothbrush bone. You won't see it in the pic because he wouldn't give it up. Girls, Terra included a little mystery with my gift. A large round soft disk. I had to figure out what it was and where it went and I think I've figured it out correctly. A handmade bird feeder and the disk is the cover/roof. Thanks again. Albert just loved opening his gifts.

Just my two cents as well, please no treats from China or ingredients from China. Just for the record, my wonder pooch, Sigred (female) is allergic to lamb. Anything but lamb is great!
Let's have a great swap!

Susan,

You are welcome to sign up for 6 swaps - - just as long as you can spoil each one of your swap puppies equally and thoroughly. Let me know today, as I hope to assign partners by the end of the day.
