Hello sisters...

I have been busy making quilts during this winter and as I was researching pattern ideas, I came across a friendship/autograph quilt which reminded me of the Round Robins I participated in back during the 80's.

All it takes is a few bits of scrap fabric (2 prints and 1 plain muslin) and the time it takes to cut and assemble an 8" block. You receive one block for each block you send out, as many or as few as you choose from the list of those who participate. As we have seen done with other groups (pen pal's, card swaps, etc) let me know if you are interested and I will create a list of participants to whom I will email a .pdf of the instructions and list of participants.

It takes 40 blocks to make a Lap Robe 54" x 78". The more participants the larger your quilts will be.

I would love to make a king size quilt .... 108" x 108" finished size which will take 144 blocks with a 9" border. This means we need 144 participants to whom I will send to each one of my blocks.

The center piece of the block consists of 3 rectangles (2 print, 1 plain muslin) On the plain muslin rectangle, using a fine sharpie, we sign our name, with city and state beneath the autograph.

This project is lots of fun and will be a perfect addition to our glampers decor!

Can't wait to get started!

Hay there, hope all of you are doing well. Life here on the ranch this summer has been crazy. Most days I have enough time to stand in the shower and fall into bed. Thank goodness for the crock pot and left overs. Fall is moving in so things will change on this ever evolving little piece of heaven. I hope to finish all the blocks and send them out all at once. I have not been a good Farmgirl and I am very sorry. I promise to do better.

Hugs and prayers,

Shannon,
Let me know if I need to send you a block since your address changed. I think I sent it before you moved, but not sure.

Please let me know if I have missed anyone on the list. I think I have sent to blocks to all on the list, but I know the mail does not always go through the way we would want. So just let me know.

Thanks

Alicia,
Do not worry! I sent your block last week.
As far as putting the block together just one step at a time.

I'm with you, Marie! I love to receive pretties. However, I'd rather have someone working on it when they she is relaxed and enjoying it. I am a quilting newbie; but, found these blocks quite simple too. Just get through the next 2-3 weeks, Alicia. Farmgirls don't like to put extra stress on each other. Hugs!

Oh Alicia! Don't worry about it. Just do the best you can. I have cut pieces of tag board in the shapes I want to make and cut them about 3\8 inch larger. It helps me to decide what part of the fabric to cut and gets them all the correct size. Whenever a quilt block is sewn, look for how to put it together using only straight seams.

Hi ladies!!! I received a block last month, but I had pretty much forgotten about this. I am very sorry!!! I am not even sure where all my blocks are, but I do want to follow through with this. Shannon emailed me this morning and reminded me. :) So, I have a ton going on in the next 2 weeks. Then I am going to get these done. Can anyone who knows they sent me a block let me know. Those are the first I want to do. I admit I am nervous. It looks simple, but I have never put a quilt block together. I know it may be asking a lot, but if you can be patient I will get them done. I have no idea where my list is either. Please forgive me!!

It is good to see that there is still "goings on" here. You ladies certainly make a good start to my day!

I still have not received blocks from the same people as Marie. I have noticed that they also seem to rarely, if ever, update us on this forum. Currently I have received a total of 12 blocks which I will use for my quilt adding a few "blanks" as needed for filler. Time for me to get this quilt finished.

Judith,
Glad you like it. It will be fun to put the quilts together and see how different each persons quilt is.

Judith - you never got mine???? After I move, I'll pull all those supplies out again. Sadly, with everything going on, i couldn't tell you who I sent one to or who I received one from! I am so sorry! That will be my project/goal for July. Make sure everyone has received a block from me and work out how I will put my quilt together.

Ok, I am sending blocks to Shannon (I did not see on my list that I had sent one to you, so yours is going out tomorrow), Judith, Alicia, Nikki, NeeNee, and Kris.

Hope this is right.

Marie, no worries!! I'm patient, since I am hopelessly behind anyway!!
Judith I received your block, I am mailing the rest of mine today to you, Alicia, Nikki, Mrs Whitney and Kris. If anyone else did not receive a block from me please let me know. I used my remaining fabric and made eleven blocks, so I have a few extra in case I missed someone.
I am going to a 4 day quilt retreat in November so if I don't get to it sooner, LOL, I plan to put the quilt top together then. It may be wishful thinking on my part but I am planning to be organized and have projects put together and cut before I leave, unlike my usual through a bunch of stuff in a bag and hope for the best.
I finally have a sewing/reading room in my spare bedroom, I will post a picture when I can.

I apologize for my tardiness. I am helping out with summer school and am in a clinical medical trial. Summer school ends on July 23 and the school year doesn't start again until August 24. Some of the procedures for the clinical trial will take up to 4 hours. I will have more time to work on the quilt blocks after summer school.

Here is the list of blocks I have received and sent:

Kathleen - received and sent
Debra - received and sent
Becky - received
Melinda - received
Carol - received and sent
Shelly - received
RoDonna - received
Denise - received
Nancy - received and sent
Shannon - received
Holly - received and sent
Lei - received and sent
Nikki - received
Judith - received

I have not received blocks from

Susan - jerseygirlsue
Margo - Renny Wise
Daizy - Daizy
Alicia - DandeeRose
Mris. Whittney - NeeNee
Kris - ...

I know there are others on the list who joined later and whose addresses I do not have. If anyone has a current list, please mail it to me. For some reason, I am unable to received email from Kathleen.

I love all the blocks I have gotten and cannot wait to put my bed spread together.
