Here's a chance to really use your creativity to put a twist on swapping in celebration of Earth Day. For this swap, you can make your choice of

- pot holder
- tea cozy
- pin cushion
- needle book
- tote bag
- hair or jewelry ornament
- or your choice with similar level of effort

The twist is, you cannot PURCHASE any new or used materials for this swap, it must be made from your stash, from upcycling, from re-using, etc. In other words, make and embellish something attractive and useful from something that would otherwise go to a landfill or be left in your craft room or closet for your children to dispose of after you are gone.

Craft can be your choice, sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet, macrame, woodwork, wirework, etc. You can use paint, thread, yarn, bubblegum wrappers, milkweed pods, whatever works for your artstic medium.

Sign ups by April 7, exchange names by April 15, Mail-out by April 30. Extras are allowed (and encouraged), but they must follow the same rules- no purchase necessary to win! The only expense you should incur for this swap is for postage.

Hi Portia,
I haven't visited the forum for a while, been so busy with the garden, etc.
When I received your package I immediately sent you an email to thank you for the lovely tote-bag. I love it! It is the perfect green to match my NOOK, and I love the little fabric flowers with button centers. I use it to carry my e-book and small crochet projects.

I know how busy you were and deeply appreciate your effort in creating this lovely keepsake.

hugs and love

Hi Debi.. finally got a picture of your wonderful swap. The fun blue jeans pocket purse and the coasters are just great. The coaster will be perfect in our little travel trailer to remind me of my great MJ farms sisters. The plastic crochets coasters were soo creative. I would never have thought of that. I am still looking for a pattern for those net scrubbies for dishes. The cheery strawberry wallet will be the perfect size for carrying coupons to the store.. slim, lightweight and just right. Thank you soo much for the swap!

Kathleen, even though I emailed you privately, I wanted to let everyone else know that I received your wonderful package.Kathleen made the most beautiful recipe box with a butterfly theme. All the divider sections had different butterflies on them, and she even made the little divider tabs! Included(in precious tiny bags tied with gorgeous ribbon)were bush bean seeds and marigold seeds from her own garden. Thank you again for a lovely gift and one I will certainly use.

Also, Kathleen was so sweet about the fact that I have not yet mailed hers because I just started a new job 2 weeks ago after having not worked for 2 years. I seemed to have forgotten that I am older and more tired and want to go to bed with the chickens!!!

Yours is going in the mail the first of the week, Kathleen. Thanks again for being so understanding. Farmgirls are the best!!

I got the cutest package from Treelady! So generous and talented. My package included an adorable garden apron, lovely bag with a pretty pocket, looped kitchen towel, and tons of extras including note cards, nasturtium seeds, and seed/spice tins!

Thanks so much for being such a wonderful swap partner! I hope you love your package as much as I love mine!

Hi Debi.. Thought I posted here yesterday. We just got back from our camping week and I still have to get to the post office.. Which has a good chance of happening tomorrow.
Hope you are enjoying the Spring time and keeping dry, warm, and safe.

Hi Deborah,

Got your package yesterday, thank you SO MUCH! I will try and post a picture later, the dish drainer is so cute and so is the mug rug. Thank you also for the tea, I have been drinking a lot of tea lately. It looks like a new variety for me!

Hi Lisa, Thank you very much for the Swap. I love the pot holders. My daughter likes them also. They are going to go with my wood cook stove just perfectly. The picture shows the front and back of them. The book marker fits my book just right and I love the color. Thanks again, Brenda

I received my package today from Lavender Rose! I am thrilled. :) She made a little bag (it has a zipper! I've never tried to sew in a zipper!), and two very cute heart decorations. Thank you Lavender Rose! You are so creative, and skilled. This was my first swap, and I want to do more. I just hope that my skills improve over time so that I can send such cute things! ;)
