Last summer I went to a craft supply swap at a local gift shop. Each participant brought one or more clear jars full of goodies - ribbons, charms, buttons, beads, rubber stamps, ephemera, tissue, paper scraps, fabric, lace, etc - to trade with someone else. I found it to be very inspirational to have new things to craft with.

Let's have a craft supply swap on MJF. Sign up for as many partners as you wish. Signups end on August 12th and the mail out deadline is September 15th. This is a general swap so there are no themes or color requirements. Just package up a minimum of 15 craft items for each of your partners in a small box or envelope. The idea is to share inspiring things from your existing stash of craft supplies - you are not required to purchase new supplies. No glass jars for this swap, please!

For small items like beads or buttons you should consider packaging several of them together as one item. A good guideline to use as you package up your items is to think about how you (or your swap partner) would feel about receiving the selection of items you have in mind.

In order to be fair to all participants, please do not sign up for this swap unless you intend to follow through with your commitment. If a problem arises during the swap please be sure to contact me right away so we can work out an alternative that is fair for all concerned. Thank you!

Ideas include but are not limited to: ribbons, tulle, fibers, beads, jewels, sequins, buttons, charms, fabric squares, yo-yos, rubber stamps, postage stamps, brads, transfers, stickers, ephemera, pretty papers, chip board cutouts, tags, photos, postcards etc that can be used for handmade cards, mail art, ATC's, match boxes, scrapbooks, altered projects and more.

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Thank you for posting !! I was just wondering if you got the box, so sorry about it being late, I really wanted to get my moneys worth out of sending it with the flat rate box, you don't know how many things went in and out to be refitted again.

Adnama,

Your box arrived yesterday and I have been having such fun looking through it! Buttons and fabric and hankies and an apron and gift tags and all manner of bits and pieces. I will really enjoy using all of the wonderful things that you collected for me! Thank you so much for your generosity.

Debbie,

You are very welcome. I'm so glad that you liked everything. I was very happy to send you something. I just wish that everyone would follow through on their swaps. It's not fair to the one's who do put so much thought and trouble into sending something out and then are left wondering what happened when they don't get anything back.

take care
hugs

Beverley and Joey, I am still working with your partners to get your packages sent out soon. Just so you know, Debbie's partner had not been in contact with us at all so I had no choice but to ask Marcy to help. I will make sure everyone gets a package of goodies by the end of October!

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

I am quite late in saying that I got Julie's package. There was some wonderful funky purple yarns, which will be going into some projects pretty soon. Things I can use to make Christmas ornaments and decorate packaging. not to leave out the sewing items! THanks Julie!

Do what you love, love what you do.

Nini,

Thank you so very much too!!!!!! I can't even explain how much I just love that black lace fabric you sent. And when I went to JoAnn's a couple of weeks ago I was looking for some lace and in that blue color range too....you been spying on me or what? LOL...I love them. The white eyelet lace you sent is perfect for going around a jar of peaches that I am giving as a present this Christmas.

I love the close to my heart book you sent. Already found some good ideas in it. I have a cricut and saw in there a cartridge that I would love to have someday. So I was so excited to see that book. I love looking at books to get ideas.

And the Mary Engelbreit book is just darling and just perfect for this time of year...can't wait to try the turkey pot pie in there...yummy.

And the photo album will be perfect to use to make my son in Michigan an album of all the things we are doing around here. Perfect. I was thinking I needed to go buy one so he didn't miss anything and then there it is...

I can't even tell you how much I love all the packs of scrapbook embellishment packs you sent...I'm in heaven, those are one of my secret indulgence. Ribbons, stickers for valentine's day, the rhinestones, memory pockets and those beautiful flowers. I also have a spellbinder wizard embossing machine and I bet the template you sent will work great in it. I love the pack of paper too...ohhhhh so much...

The victorian stickers you sent will look so good on the ATC's, I am doing my first one's right now and see a couple that I am going to use. I just can't believe how well you seem to know me...hehe

And my sticky dots...I JUST RAN OUT. How did you know? Also the acrylix stamps you sent perfect for my ATC's too...and I even have the blocks needed to use them...so cool. The wooden one is so pretty. I am going to have to go get me some new ink pads too.

I know you aren't going to believe this but yesterday I was needing glitter for my ATC and couldn't find any so was trying to disassemble a ribbon with glitter on it...and that wasn't easy. Now I don't have too.. I swear you must have a spy in my house.

Would you believe I wanted some colored pencils so yesterday I bought some at The Dollar General store but wasn't crazy about the colors but here you are sending me the metallic ones. I'm so lucky..

I have never had edge punches before but I have been playing with them already and LOVE THEM...These also will come in handy for ATC's. And the circle one is awesome. And the can with all the wonderful Items in it...oh my so many goodies. I can use them right now with my ATC's.

The plastic mold will come in handy this coming Easter...thank you. But is it for candy or soap?

Now I want to tell you how excited I am about the ribbon necklaces...My nieces are going to love them..They will go in their Christmas box. And last but not least, thank you for the Beautiful pink pins with the flowers and pearls. They are so cute.

I don't know how any other farmgirl could be as blessed as I am. You are amazing. It is like you have known me for years. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you, you have made this farmgirl very happy.

I am so glad you like all of your things and glad the fabric will get you sewing.

Big hug to you. Such a generous person you are...

Penny

PENNY!!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!

I don't even know where to begin... I just LOVE everything! I'm not sure whether you know this or not, but I just bought a new sewing machine a few months back, and have been too nervous to open it and try my hand at sewing again! I haven't sewed since junior high school, and didn't even know where to begin with buying fabric!!! NOW I CAN!! Thank you so much for the fabric - I love each piece you've sent! I can't wait to get started!

I also have to share with you that I LOVE that Scrapper's Solution stuff! About three months ago, I started organizing my stash of goodies and noticed that I was almost out! I couldn't believe it when I opened the box and there it was right on top smiling at me!! You are a GODSEND!!!!!

AND

I actually needed a new glue gun really, really, REALLY bad! Thank you!!! I can't believe you sent it!!!!

And I can't wait to play with the ornament kit! I love the colors and designs on the pieces - so fresh and modern, yet the design of the stars is very classic! We just re-did our dining room in a fresh coat of teal- blue, and these will look absolutely lovely in there at the holidays! SO COOL!!!! Thank you!!!

I really love the little kit you sent with the stickers and punch and decorative scissors - I don't really have any decorative scissors... that's something I always say I'll pick up "some day..." All the girls in the ATC swaps make lovely little designs in their paper cuts, and now I can, too!!! LOVE THEM!!! THANK YOU!!!

And all the lace and embellishments and stickers and the jewels and the flowers and the googley eyes - LOVE those! - and the little golden jingle bells... and the little scrapbook kits and the pretty little gift bags and... OH! You know, I've NEVER tried rub-ons before!!!! And here, you've sent me this awesome set of cool little words and sayings!!!! Girlfriend, I don't know how you did it, but you came up with soooo many cute things that just fit me to a "t!"

I just can't thank you enough for EVERYTHING!!! This really was better than Christmas morning... because Santa in our house is clueless as to what a crafty girl wants, but you sure do!!!! You ROCK!!! Again - Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!! I'm in Heaven!!!

BIG hugs and many, many thanks! You really, REALLY made my day! :)
