We had such a successful swap with our kids (they swapped bookmarks), that we thought we would do it again! As you all know, it is so important to help teach our kids the importance of taking care of our Mother Earth as well as making new friends! What a great way to do both at the same time! Siobhan had put together a wonderful swap for us ladies, so I'm not going to change any of the specifics.. Just include along with your seeds, planting instructions, and whether it is a flower, vegetable, or herb..and how much space is needed for it to grow! Sign up will end Saturday, May 15, and send in date by May 22. So sign up the kids, grandkids, neighbors... It will be loads of fun!

Posted - Sep 26 2010 : 7:49:34 PM Annette- Thank you for your kindness. Luckily CJ and I were able to coordinate together, so that Juliana swapped with her two daughters Evie and Eliza, so all 3 of the girls were covered. It was very sweet of you to go out of your way and think of us. Now thats what I call Farmgirl caring! No worries here- I have met so many wonderful farmgirl sisters here that one unfortunate situation could never dampen this farmgirls spirits! Have a wonderful week! Posted - Sep 12 2010 : 2:37:39 PM I know it has been awhile, but my daughter Juliana never received her seeds from Bella, and I believe that there are a few others who didnt receive theirs either. Just curious if they were ever sent out again. Thanks, Laurie Farmgirl Sister#1403

Posted - Jul 11 2010 : 8:08:58 PM Nicola, Did your children ever get a chance to re-send some seeds? Eliza & Evie still have not received anything...Hope all is well. Ella's gourds from Shylee are beginning to pop up (we were waiting, but went ahead & planted; they seem to be doing well!)

Posted - Jun 20 2010 : 3:48:29 PM Hi Nicola- Juliana did not receive her seeds yet either... sounds like a mystery for the post office! HA If you could send again that would be great- since her brother got his a while back and he is already seeing the "fruits" of his labor! Thank you- will email you our address again. Posted - Jun 19 2010 : 7:14:34 PM Hi Cassie, I would love to send more. I feel terrible about this going bad for us. Would you mind emailing your shipping address again and I will get them sent in Mondays mail. And to our other swap partners, if you didn't get our seeds, I would love to have your addresses too so I can mail another envelope with seeds. I deleted all the emails with addresses after we mailed ours just so that I wouldn't get confused with swaps. I am doing other swaps, so wanted to keep things straight. I am very sorry again about this. :( Thanks, Nicola |

Posted - Jun 19 2010 : 12:39:37 PM Nicola, Still no seeds. Would you mind sending some again? I hate for the girls to get left out, especially since Ella already got hers awhile ago. I put 2 stamps on ours, just in case. Maybe the p.o. just didn't bother to return to sender? Anyway, if you can't for some reason let me know...even just a letter would be nice to them, they just feel special to get mail. I can hunt for some fun seeds here if I need to...

Posted - Jun 08 2010 : 3:25:13 PM Hi Teresa, I never thought about the postage. I helped the little ones make theirs and left the older ones to themselves. Betsy sent her ahead of the rest, which I forgot about. Maybe they will just be returned here. I apologize if they arrive and extra postage needs to be paid. I will glady send some $ to cover that. Sorry to have everyone waiting on us. Thanks again, Nicola |

Posted - Jun 08 2010 : 1:41:33 PM Katie got her seeds from Betsy a while ago. I believe Laurentany's daughter hasn't received hers yet from Bella. I wonder if perhaps there wasn't enough postage on the envelope? Sometimes if the envelope is too heavy, the P.O will charge more.

Posted - Jun 07 2010 : 7:10:46 PM I just wondered if anyone received mine from Bella, Betsy, Becca, Mark and Anthony? I just had any email saying that some hadn't arrived and they should have got there last week. Can't remember the day. I am missing something else that I mailed ( not on MJF ) and am starting to get worried. Please let me know. Thanks, Nicola :) And we would like to be included in the next swap. The children are really enjoying having mail friends. |

Posted - Jun 04 2010 : 2:44:37 PM Ella received her seeds from Shylee the end of last week...not got them planted yet, we're going to plant Eliza & Evie's the same day, so we are waiting to receive them first. Have they been mailed yet? We haven't gotten any mail in the last 2 days at all, so I'm wondering if it's been lost... Ella was so excited when she got her mail! All her babydolls were called Shylee for the next few days...It was very sweet!

Posted - May 31 2010 : 05:06:27 AM Siobhan: I love the "Where I'm from" swap!! That is such a great idea. Finding something unique would be so much fun! Obviously not too much stuff.. $50.00 to ship (!!!) Enjoy the rest of your camping trip! Laurie: Did Juliana get her seeds yet? My kids enjoy these swaps just as much as I do! Even I get so excited when I see an envelope with their name on it!

Posted - May 28 2010 : 8:13:19 PM We've received both Jack and Lukes seeds and they are planted and all sprouting really well! I have been camping for a couple days now and I can't wait to see what they look like when we get back!
This was fun and my boys are having a blast going to the garden with me each morning and checking on their seeds. Thanks again for hosting this Teresa. Great idea!!!
Maybe for another kid swap we can do a sticker swap ( we've done that a couple times and my kids loved it ). Or, even more fun, a "where Im from" swap. We could set a spending limit ( I did one of these before and spent a lot of money when my box was filled and ready and then discovered when I went to the PO that it was going to cost $50 to ship! Yikes! I had to not swap for a while to recoup my swapping budget LOL. But we could set the swap for like $5 or $10 and the kids can send their partner something unique to where they are from.

Posted - May 24 2010 : 08:56:24 AM I am sorry to have my children be late 'again'. After this month, we hope to have more time to be early instead of running behind. :)

I will talk to the children and see if they have any ideas for the next swap. Thank you, Nicola |
