I love making pillow cases! So I thought a swap would be fun. The rules will be simple: The pillow cases can be sewn, embroidered, appliqued or whatever direction your creative talents take you. It would be nice if you could do them to match your partners chosen bedroom so list a color preference when you sign up. The sign-up date will go through April 25th. I will post partners on the 26th.
Mailing Date will be by May 25th. That will give those who choose to embroider time to complete thier projects. Lets add some spring freshness to our bedrooms girls!

Julie

I'm disappointed that my partner never responded with her address after I made the pillowcases, but I'll use them for Christmas presents or something. I hope nothing has happened to her.

Hi Cora,
i am so sorry that you were sick. :( I hope you are feeling much better now.
Glad that parcel arrived. I was just nervous that something had happened to it. I am missing some things that I sent out to other people around the same time. Not sure what is going on with that?
Thank you for your lovely compliments. I really enjoyed making these for you. I might have to make them for myself when I have time, whenever that might be!!! I realized after I mailed them that I forgot to put ribbon in the shoe bag. Sorry for that,
Love Nicola

Sorry, I am late with my post..I have been sick recently....I did receive my pillowcases from Nicola (shabby mama) and they were absolutely gorgeous! She included extra's, a shoe bag, small nightie cover and mat for picture what a great surprise. Thanks Nicola for all your work and the color was my favorite - purple on white - The package was here when I got home from a hospital visit and certainly made my day....also, thanks for the beautiful card. keep in touch....I loved this exchange.

I second that motion on another pillowcase swap, you can't have to many. I'll put it together if there is any interest.

I'm so glad you like them! And using two regular cases on a body pillow sounds rather cool, I never would have thought of doing that. Your enthusiasm has totally made *my* day :)

I got my pillowcases over the holiday weekend, and they are SO great!!!!!!! They are in jewel tones, to match my " Jewel Box" quilt. Catherine also spent a LOT of time drying kefir grains and tibicos ( water kefir) grains for me, since we are both fermenters. She also provided me with info on reydrating them and then using them. I have made kefir before, but not tibicos. I will start on both when I get back from Haiti.
The pillowcases have a ruffled accent and then the " regular" accent piece. I put them on a body pillow I use as a regular pillow, so the ruffles and accents are in the middle. It's SUCH a cool effect.I'm pretty sure nobody in the whole wide world would have one- totally unique and wonderful! The pillow now resembles a giant butterfly!
Catherine, thanks again so very much! You totally made my day.

I just received my pillow cases from Cora. I can't brag enough. They are beautiful, gorgeous, perfect, stunning, truly amazing. She hand embroidered a lovely farm scene on both, with flowers, cart and umbrella and if that wasn't enough hand work, she also did 1 1/2 inch of crotchet lace on the trim. I need to figure out how to add pictures of these.
Cora, thank you so, so much. They are too precious for on my bed so I am going to pin them up as valances in my bedroom :).

Mine are machine made so I am feeling a little guilty. But they were made with love and care so I hpe you like them too.
Thank you again,
Nicola x

Just got my pillowcases from Mary (MaryLD) and they are so cute! Bright cherry colors for summertime, just what I need. She even threw in an extra pillowcase, using it as wrapping "paper" for the pair. I love them all!!! Thanks so much.

I am afraid that I am really down to the wire on yours, Mary.....I had a sort of last minute idea I wanted to do and am waiting for a little supply to come in the mail. I am hoping it comes in time for me to actually use it! I need to mail these out soon I know. Just know they ARE coming and hopefully you will think it worth the last minute wait!!

Dear Donna, Thank you so much for the precious hand worked pillowcases. There were beautiful. So pretty in fact that I don't want to use them!!! LOL I will put them on pillows that we don't use and just decorate my bed with them. Again, thank you so much for them and the lovely card, butterfly and kleenex. I put the butterfly on the lovely card and put the card where I keep my mail art. Smiles, Beth

You can never be to kind!
