I love making pillow cases! So I thought a swap would be fun. The rules will be simple: The pillow cases can be sewn, embroidered, appliqued or whatever direction your creative talents take you. It would be nice if you could do them to match your partners chosen bedroom so list a color preference when you sign up. The sign-up date will go through April 25th. I will post partners on the 26th.
Mailing Date will be by May 25th. That will give those who choose to embroider time to complete thier projects. Lets add some spring freshness to our bedrooms girls!

Julie

O.k. Girls, hear are you partners. Please contact them as soon as possible.

This sounds like so much fun. And different too. Count me in. My favorite colors are light pink and light green. This would look great on my bed.

I would love to swap cases! I have a concern - I have noticed a trend in that some ladies simply crank out a project. If I embroider, applique or otherwise lavishly embellish my creation, I would want a partner who would appreciate my efforts and return the investment (both time & monetary.) In pairing, could you evaluate intentions?

Anna, I think we can't determine everyone's skills and we just take our chances. I try not to be someone who 'throws' her project together, but there are many sisters who've been doing this for a long timeand are faboulous sewers, knitters, etc. I used to sew a lot, but have gotten away from it somewhat since my kids are grown, except to make machine made quilts. Everyone does the best she can, I think.

Anna, I think each person who chooses to do a swap has no intention of "simply cranking out a project". Everyone has different skill levels and everyone has different methods of persuing a project. Each person be it a beginner or an experienced sewer/crafter puts there whole heart into it, or at least I do. These swaps are to create friendships and to exchange not only different talents and thoughts, but to create a ray of sunshine in someones elses mail box. When I participate in a swap it is not with the expectation of something in return, although that is the whole point of a swap, it is because I truely feel it is more blessed to give than receive and I enjoy whatever craft I have chosen to participate in. I would hope that whoever receives a package from any farm girl would truely appreciate and cherish whatever is sent, as I think is the case with most swaps and barters.

With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.

I believe the swaps are about "sharing of hearts and friendship" and without that, so much is lost. I'm saddened that this has become an issue.

I'm in, too! I know what you mean about sometimes being disappointed in what you receive, but I always try to think that everybody needs a break once in a while, there are times when we all fall short. I try to take that as my gift for that particular sister --sometimes its just what you give and not get. Of course -- I LOVE getting way cool stuff. I used to get mad,but now, I try to keep it in perspective. Make sense? Not trying to be preachy, though I am a preacher. Preaching is really not a bad word!!!

Hugs,
Karen

I would like to participate in the pillowcase swap. Are we talking sizes (king, queen, twin)? Will it be a pair of pillowcases or just one? Whatever the answer, I still want to join in. My favorite color is anything pastel.

Hi Cora, welcome to your first swap. It is for a pair of pillowcases and standard sized ones I think are the most common. I could be wrong at that though and you might want to contact your partner one those are posted and ask what their preference is.

Please sign me up! I am excited to make a pillow case. Do we make a pair to swap? Let me know what else I need to do. I am brand new to this site and sooooo excited to be a part of this wonderful creative group of women! Ok, I like shabby chic colors, soft blues, pinks, lace. Girly girl stuff.

I'd love to do this! I have been making pillowcases for the allpeoplequilt.com pillowcase challenge so I have lots of ideas lol.
I don't exactly have a bedroom decor so...anything goes colorwise but I love bright and cherry colors. I'd prefer nothing pastel or jeweltone.

I received your package this morning. I am humbled! They are absolutely elegant - white on white is so classy and you did such exceptional embroidery work! And three bonuses - an embroidered sachet, a crocheted doily, all presented in a lace draw-ribbon bag! This should be on the cover of Victoria magazine!! My, oh my, did you go the extra mile!!! I don't know whether to place this assemblage on display or sleep on it!
I am very appreciative of all he love I've been sent. Thank you, Julie!
