Thinking of getting my hair cut.....about 9-10 inches off. I tried to take a photo of the length, in case I can get in today.

Lorena,
I bought a hair tool that I think is called "bun twists" that work great.

You just twist your long hair up, and secure it on two opposite sides with these metal "hair screws" that twist in and hold it in place.

I've seen them in the hair accessory aisle at Wal-mart and K-mart. I did buy mine at Meijer, but haven't seen them there recently.

I used them all summer long and it held my hair up. I'm keeping them for this next summer too.

I hate my hair. Where I have no power other than a generator I 'm not going to turn it on to run hair appliances or drain my battery bank. If I had a way to do something with it without just putting it up in a pony tail (I can't braid) it wouldn't be so bad.

Kristina.. your hair was beautifully long.. but I LOVE the new look ! It really enhances your facial features and I think you will much enjoy the upkeep.

I had mine cut off when I was doing 4 vacations back to back a few years ago (girls" Alaskan cruise, family reunion in multiple states in a couple of weeks time, followed by a week long camping trip with DH, followed the next week by a transUSA trip to visit my lovely sister-in-law). I Sooo enjoyed the trips instead of the hair up-keep !

YOU LOOK GREAT! ENJOY !!

Wow Kristina.......your hair looks beautiful both ways. I think its really neat that you can donate your hair. It will make someone a beautful wig that they will be proud to wear.

Wow, Kristina, what a makeover! You look 20 years happier :) I rather like the darker shade, even though it's just that the sun isn't hitting you as it was in the "before" photo. Well done, girl!

Kristina,

I love your haircut. I've always been envious of people with red hair and yours looks so thick and healthy. Bet you've gotten loads of compliments. I think shoulder length is a good choice. That's what mine is, so I can easily put it up or in a ponytail.

I love your new haircut! You look refreshed, rejuvenated, and younger. Just like when you know it is time to harvest, you must have gotten the urge to trim away excess. You really look great!

I do feel better. I can always grow it out over summer (easier to put up in a bun for garden work), but I am really enjoying it. It's time for a few changes this fall. :)

Thanks everyone! It's so curly when I allow it to dry on it's own. With all that length, I didn't see the natural curls.

Thanks. I can let it dry as is, flat iron it or curl it, or still put it up in a pony. In the photo, my hair stylist used a flat iron.

Don't worry, I'm sure I'll be busy and let it grow out, and not on purpose. It grows fast, but boy does this short "do" feel great!!!

However, your new "do" turned out just lovely!

Wow! You look fantastic! I just had my long hair cut short last weekend and donated. I love my new hair cut and it feels wonderful. (And I'm already saving a ton of $$$ on hair product too!)
