Since we have the cowboy boots thread, I figured I'd ask how you wear them?
Pants over them, pants tucked into them, with shorts or skirts..etc.?

I don't own a pair(yet) but I would wear them with jeans over them and depending on the detailing, would wear them with a skirt!

I really need to get a pair!!!

I wish I could wear my black with pink cutout boots more often, but living in Florida I don't really get the chance with the heat and humidity. When I do wear them, they're with a skirt or with under my Jeans.

i wear 16inch high tops jeans tucked inside most of the time, if im told that it is a dress up occation then i normally tuck them in. i have to admit that boots are about all i wear for shoes, so they are worn with shorts and dresses. I wore them at my reception to my wedding, but grandma wouldnt hear of me walking down the isle with bright orange boot tops

I tried those "fat babies" by Ariel and they are really comfortable. I have foot problems (broken from arthritis)but I think these will work. I will wear them with anything I please!

Great thread. I wear mine inside my pant legs. My legs are way too skinny to wear with short dresses. I like the look of mid calf denim skirts with over the calf boots, but don't have any tall ones anymore. The pair I had my daughter sold on ebay when the Duke's of Hazard movie came out. They were custom made in the 70's and she got $90 for them, and they were wore out. I wear a pair of blue fat baby's, and two pair of lace up ropers, one pair in black, and one in red.
On some people, ones with great legs, I like the look of shorts and boots. Where do you live Beachymom? If you are not near a western store, try an online catalog like Sheplers. My daughter wears a size 12 and can find fat baby's. She has blue ones, and orange ones and several other colors. She looks so cute in them, as a little girl she had several pair of knickers and wore red roper's with them nearly everyday. She wears them with skirts, pants, shorts or whaterver she wants. Even sweats, a look I don't like.

Greetings from the morning side of the hill.

I would love to wear cowboy boots, but with size 12w feet, it's hard to find anything in my size at all!!

I did read an article about making purses out of old cowboy boots by removing hard heals and adding shoulder straps. Sounds interesting.

I either wear mine with jeans--always pants on the outside or with skirts and dresses. I really think boots look good with almost anything as long as they are cleaned up.

Honestly, I prefer no shoes at all! But my boots, I wear with anything. My bf calls me Red. I say, if the boot fits, wear it!

We wear our boots with anything anyway :). Daughter and friends (teenagers) think if jeans are tucked in it needs to be skinny jeans. Funny what we get hung up on.

Today, I worked outside and had shorts on with my red cowboy boots. My high-maintenance neighbor came over just to ask me why I had boots on. "Because I can", was my answer. She well let me know that the combination of short and boots did not look good. My reply, "Well, don't look". How's that for a neighbor? Tomorrow, I will have my short and boots on again.

Oh CeeJay that is such a familiar sight in my family! Makes me miss my Aunt Jeanie and Uncle Mike!

I thought about wearing boots for my wedding but it just won't look right. I think, instead, I may look for a pair of Victorian style boots. I know River Junction Trading Company used to carry them because my Daddy bought some for Momma. Otherwise, I saw a neat idea for making Spats to go over pumps!!! I thought that may be fun, too!

But yes, the boots... I can barely even wear flat shoes any more because my feet are so accustomed to some form of a heel now. And, everyone I meet at work that doesn't have boots want a pair now, and I send them all to the western shop down the street! Wish I could get a referral cut!! HA!

I sent a pair of boots off to Amanda at https://www.facebook.com/HopscotchDandelions. She's a farmgirl. Last year, I traded for a pair of black cowboy boots with a farm girl here, which I love. Amanda tells me that they were originally brown and that she's going to strip the paint and then paint on some flowers. She does such amazing work. It will be so much fun to wear them when I get them back!

Lora! I've seen you on the porch! I love the pink fuzzy bathrobe thing, haha!!

And I LOVE this thread!! I love my boots... almost every pair I own needs to be resoled... I wear mine with jeans, legs over the shaft, and I often wear them with skirts, too. I kind of want to make some dresses that I could wear boots with for the summer, but I need to get my weight down a bit. I don't wear shorts most times, so that would be a NO. BUT when my father was a salvage diver in the late 70s early 80s, that was the rage... for the divers! Cut off shorts, no shirts, and cowboy boots. I hope Momma has those pictures.... HAH!

About the nightie . . I didn't have time to get dressed. I had to act fast and get that rattler! Otherwise I wouldn't have done it that way. However, there wasn't really anyone around to see.
