I made this dress a couple weeks ago...I think, especially with the hat, it looks very "farmgirlish!" What do you think?

I added some lace that I got at an auction...around the hem, sleeves, and neckline, but I didn't get any close-up pictures of that.

I haven't looked here in a while...

Our house is on top of a hill...you have to go down the ill and across a small pasture to get to the creek...but it's fairly close to the house. Not 1/4 mile, even, I don't think. It is so pretty down there...any season of the year! It's a nice quiet place to sit and think sometimes...you can't hear anything down there, nothing but the birds!

We're in south central KY...it is very beautiful here! My brother took these pictures for me, down by our creek. Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I was hoping to make another dress soon (going out of town this week, and I always get the sewing bug right before I go!) but there's now way I'll be able to fit it in.

Very cute dress, Kayla! The floral print is so pretty - I love pinks and greens mixed. It fits you so well, and the length does make it look farmgirly - maybe a bit vintage too because of the print and colors.

Where you were photographed looks gorgeous! Makes me pine for the hills of Licking County, Ohio......

The pattern is McCall's 3129... http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/patterns/sewingpatterns.pl?patternid=20069

When I made it this time (I've made it once before) I cut out a couple of inches from the front panel. The other one I made gapes a little too much in the front, and cutting that from the front really solved that problem. I have noticed that this dress, when made just like the pattern, doesn't have enough shape to suit me. I guess I'm a bit too curvy for the pattern! So, I tried on several times during the sewing an made adjustments...taking in the seams on the waist, that sort of thing. I need a smaller waist, but still have to have adequate hip space...yay. lol I like a more fitted dress, so I just pin and take in where I want. Other than that, the pattern is great! Easy, and fast...and with these little modifications, fits me nicely!

Thanks again for the sweet comments!

You have motivated me to make a few spring/summer dresses. I went to the fabric store this weekend and will try getting them made in the next few weeks. Thanks for sharing your pictures, the dress is great.
