Posted - Nov 20 2011 : 3:30:53 PM I finally figured out what I will do to embroider and make with my badges. I will figure out a Christmas ornament to make. I posted an ornament today on my S.C.R.A.P. blog, using old canning lids. I may figure a way to re-size the patterns and embellish them for each level, or create a different ornament pattern. It may be a year or two to finish, but I'm excited I figured out what I want to do with it. I make homemade ornaments every year and LOVE it!

Posted - May 30 2012 : 08:44:00 AM It is working out except for my little mismeasure to start. The first two badges I som how made smaller before I printed them. Now the rest of them are bigger. I decided to use the intervening space to write MaryJane Sisterhood. It's working well. I also like the jacket idea but for me I can hang the apron on my wall. The membership badge is on my jacket and I bought the sisterhood necklace. Both start a lot of conversations.

Posted - May 28 2012 : 2:03:01 PM Oooo Sue.. LIKE your idea. I just got a canvas apron and I have a Sister flower pin attached to it... It seems a little lonely.. I bet Badges are just the thing!
I also have a denim shirt with some machine embroidery a friend does for me from time to time. I think having a denim shirt-jacket with badges going down the front (or back).. some people are pretty prolific !! would be a great conversation starter !! We can spread the work about MJF !! |

Posted - May 15 2012 : 6:36:33 PM I received a canvas apron and I'm using that AS my badges. I use the reverse image to create an iron-on. It gets ironed right onto the canvas. The material is heavy enough to emboider right on it. I love the way it is looking. |

Posted - Jan 23 2012 : 7:39:47 PM Hi Kristine, I love the idea! I looked at your sites but I didn't see the ornament there. Are the badges a paper copy glued to the canning lid? Would you post directions please.
Thanks for a great idea! Jackie

Posted - Nov 23 2011 : 2:02:55 PM I'm working on different ideas, but may not have a completed project for a while. I'll post when I do have one. I love to spend my summers making ornaments, but the garden responsibilities pushed me behind this year.

Posted - Nov 22 2011 : 06:42:10 AM Kristi, That's a great idea! I'm planning on making a mini quilt with mine . . . if I ever get time to plan it and put it together. I've figured out how to resize them after I uploacede the .jpeg files into a folder in my "Pictures". That's what I've done with the few I'm made into shrinky dinks. Just need time! Thanks! CJ
