Has anyone ever thought about having a badge dealing with service done for children and their families in 3rd world countries? Many people are involved on the home front with sponsoring a child, and some people serve as volunteers throughout the world. An outreach badge that ran the list of possibilities in this area would be awesome.

Two more ideas for phrases:

“Icing on the Cake”
“Decorate with Taste”

Hey we love suggestions. ;)

Our only constraint is it has to be a phrase short enough to fit on the Merit Badge certificates.

How about "You take the cake!" Or "If I knew you were coming I would have baked a cake!"
Sorry I could not help myself Kevin. : )

I like it! We should come up with a clever name for the badge. Something like "Let Them Eat Cake." Probably not that though, its been done to death.

Cake Decorating
Beginner:
*Study and learn decorating basics: Correct decorating bag position, filling the decorating bag, using couplers, and all decorating basics. You can learn this by visiting the Web site: http://www.wilton.com/decorating/
*Using the same Web site above, study and learn all categories under “Decorating Cakes.”
-or you can read a Wilton Cake Decorating Beginner’s Guide (Step-by-Step Instructions)or take a cake decorating class.

Intermediate:
*Create your own basic cake decorating kit.
*Using the techniques you learned in the beginner badge, and cake decorating tools, bake and frost one cake for any occasion. Use at least 3 different frosting tips/designs and make your own frosting.

Expert:
*Enter a decorated cake in the local fair or donate one for a cake auction.
or
*Bake and frost a cake for a chapter member’s birthday, family member or friend.
or
*Volunteer to provide a decorated cake for an event.

The girls helped me with this, and of course it's just an idea. There are so many possibilities for this type of badge.

Well I have always wanted to take the Wilson cake decorating class at Hobby Lobby.
Looks like I will get some motivation soon!

I'm searching our library for books right now for this suggestion. I'll post our ideas as soon as I have read through them.

I didn't think to write it all out for each level. Should I?
