Good Morning!

I am not sure where to post this, so here I go :)...please feel free to move it to an appropriate spot.

I am going through the Merit Badges, and there are few I am working on. Questions:

1. If I am already "practicing" Beginner or Intermediate levels in life, can I just apply for "Expert", or should I apply for the first two levels first? (For example, I already crochet. But I would love to be challenged by a new project, this would fall into the Expert level).

2. Several badges "mix". For example, I just built new planter boxes (Make it Easy: In the Garden! Intermediate/ Make It! Beginner), and put in "lasagne gardens" to prepare for spring planting. This would be under at least two merit badges, though it is really ONE project (hope this makes sense). Same goes for some of the Greening, Neighborhood, etc badges.

3. Our chapter is doing several things together, ei. apron sew ins, "get to know us" teas, volunteer work, teaching each other. Do we each apply for the badges, even if the event/project is a collaborative? So basically, no one of us is "hosting".

Thank you!
Heike

Hi Heike,

Yup Karla's right about the first one (thanks Karla), you can also teach someone the skills you're already familiar with to fulfill the requirements.

We are aware that there's some overlap with the badges, and in some cases it just can't be prevented so yes, it is okay for requirements to overlap.

And as for the chapter working together; totally okay, in fact that's what we like to hear. Hope that helps and please let me know if you have any other questions.

I know the answer to the first one cause I asked it! You need to apply for each level & sow pictures or explain what you did to accomplish it!

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
