Also posted on Outpost.

If you have a great idea for a Wild West experience please submit your thoughts.

Last year we had a great time with the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum tours and she is one of the original "Women of the Wild West". She is listed in the book of the same name.

There is so much this farmgirl experience can offer, so stay tuned for upcoming announcements and invitations to the Farmgirls on the Loose events.

Fort Bridger, Wyoming, in the SW of Wyoming.

The Cowgirl Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, to include the Stockyards.

Moscow, Idaho

These are three ideas so far.

Get your GPS out and let's go.

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hey Farmgirls,

Wende is "hostessing" a blog comment contest while we are all out on the road trip. You're gonna want to follow to see what we're up to . . . and comment to enter the contest.
Could be fun!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe you have a women of the wild west thread!! My ancestors homesteaded in South Dakota and their letters inspired a novel I wrote. I'm actually thinking of making a trip that way to do a book signing...perhaps I could formalize an agenda and if the places I find to visit live up to MJFarmgirl standards (and I know they will as SD is full of rich history and fun people!), maybe it could be a destination for future trips!
Thanks for further inspiration!

RECIPE COLLECTION:
We're going to be putting together our own little Women of the Wild West/Farmgirls on the Loose "Recipe Collection".

One of our farmgirl hostesses is making recipe folders for us to put them in, then we can tie up with a ribbon or whatever and have our little collection.

EVERYONE WHO IS PLANNING ON MEETING UP along that way, even if it's just for a hour or two . . PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring your own recipes to add to the collection.
- SIZE: no larger than 4 x 5
- Typed or handwritten, but please be sure your name, address and forum name are on them
- Bring enough copies for everyone (type or write it once and make
photo copies) We're making about 40 holders.

If you have questions, just email me!
Should be a really nice momento for all of us!
Thanks!
CJ

Hi Shari,
Shucky darn! The Women of the Wild West Road trip route, stops and such are all planned at this point. We'll be starting in Baggs, WY, heading west to the Pocatello, ID area, then north to Butte, MT and over to Coeur d' Alene, ID, Orofino, ID and our "finale" will be at Tea Party at MaryJanes Farm in Moscow, ID.

So, we'll have to take a "rain check" on your invitation for this trip. But, we'd love to invite you to check out: www.farmgirlsontheloose.blogspot.com. There are more specific details there and there will be more information over the next few weeks.

And, you can go to the ACROSS THE FENCE forum section and check out the thread there "CALLING FARMGIRLS . . WY,ID,MT,WA . . . ". There is also a bit more info there. If you can join us anywhere along this route, we'd LOVE to meet you!

Thanks for the invite!! Perhaps a more southerly trip across and out to California will be in the Farmgirls future.

Hello there,

Wow I got back here just in time. If you're looking for awesome places in history, we're in SW Utah, about 90 minutes from Zion National Park, and less than an hour from Cathedral State Park in Nevada. The claim to Wild West women around here has more to do with the very strong Mormon family history, including that of the traditional polygamist families. No, they're not bad people.

If you need a place to camp overnight, we've got room amongst the animals (they'll be penned up). Got water, but no place to dump RV's.

We're about 50 miles west of Cedar City, and 65 miles north of St. George. Also within about 30 miles of one of the original iron kilns in Utah.
