Hi everyone I was just wondering if there is anyone else out there like me. I have been a sisterhood member for years--#41 and I have yet put in for a single badge. So I am making it a priority to work on my badges from now on. I seem to get caught up in everything else and put what I want to do. So anyone else out there like me?

Hi Ladies!

Something that helped me get motivated to apply for mine was when they made the badge requirement pdf that I could print out. It helped me wrap my brain around what I needed to do and could physically take it with me and write all over it! I set up a section in my farmgirl notebook (just a plain ole binder I got at costco) just for badges. Some of my other sections are for swaps and addresses etc. Once you apply for one, it's kind of addicting!!! Especially when you can track your progress on paper instead of in the cosmic world of cyber-space! You can do it girls!!! :)

To find the pdf, just go to the badge requirement page http://www.farmgirlsisterhood.org/merit-badges.asp and look for the "get sisterhood badges list (pdf)" button! Print away!!!

I'm "guilty," too. I've done a lot since becoming a Farmgirl this past year, but when I went to the badge link I suddenly was overwhelmed and thought, "I'm going to need some serious time to look this over!" I haven't made the time, but hope to do so after the holidays. I read where someone suggested a badge handbook - that is SUCH a wonderful idea!!! I'd purchase it in a hot minute!!!

And thank you for the link, Kevin! I'll definitely check that out - I'm sure it will be helpful AND motivating! :)

I will be looking forward to working on my badges soon - and seeing all of your accomplishments, too, everyone! Hugs - Nini

Thanks Kevin! I will check out the badge-in. Unfortuately I don't live close to any farmgirls so working "together" will pose a bit of a problem. Crocheting isn't hard. [enter sarcasm LOL] Golly it only took me three times to get it! But I'm still on really basic projects. I love those dainty doilies and table cloths, but I don't think I'll ever have the patience to master that!

Hi Melanie,

To answer your question, yes you have to do a simple crochet project and teach someone as well. In general you have to complete all the requirements to earn a new badge. That said I've always thought crocheting looks pretty difficult (actually I'm convinced it's some form of witchcraft), so you could work with a fellow Farmgirl and teach each other how to crochet thereby both of you fulfilling the requirements for the badge.

Also I can't remember where it is but I know there's a forum post about a "badge-in," where Sisterhood members plan out which badge they want to work on together. That could probably serve as some added encouragement. If I can find it I'll post a link to it here. I hope that helps and I look forward to seeing badges from y'all.

You are not alone Jeanne, I have not applied yet. I keep meaning to but I keep forgetting too.

P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!!

Hi sisters!
I waited a while as well before I applied for my first few badges. :)
One thing that helped motivate me was to go to the list of badge requirement page and read through... Once I did it I found that I had already completed several of the beginner badges for some of the categories so I applied for those and that got me going!

you go girls!!!

Me too. But I have a question.... Like for the beginner crochet badge, do we only have to crochet a scarf or do we have to make the scarf plus teach someone to crochet to earn our beginner level badge?
