Posted - Apr 16 2010 : 10:55:00 AM Ok-I broke down & joined this great place with so many new friends! I am anxiously awaiting my membership kit to arrive! I have gone into the badges section to see what I want to start with first! So many interesting one! What does everyone do with the things they already do? Can these become badges right away or what?? I read somewhere about how to tell a beginner from an expert but now I can't remember where that was ??? Help!

Posted - Apr 22 2010 : 08:17:33 AM Sounds good to me! I figure that some of the things I've made- I could still take pictures of & describe the process. It is fun to ee all the projects that are available to do though! Thanks for all the help!

Posted - Apr 19 2010 : 10:29:18 AM Hi Karla,
Welcome to the Sisterhood, I look forward to seeing your badge applications.
Here's a link to the merit badge list: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/farmgirl-sisterhood/merit-badges.asp
When you see another Sisterhood members badge, you can tell what level she is at by whether or not she has an outline stitched around the border. No outline and she's a beginner, one intermediate, and two outlines she's an expert.
You do have to earn the badges in order starting with beginner, however if it's something that you've been doing for years you can talk about your experiences and in most cases that will be accepted. A good example is the Entrepreneurial Spirit badge. Essentially that badge is about starting your own business, and if you already have your own business I'm not going to ask that you start a new one.
Please feel free to email me with any questions you have about badges and have fun.

Posted - Apr 16 2010 : 7:48:26 PM I was working on things while waiting for my membership to go through, so I just wrote in the dates for that. My volunteer work has been ongoing, so I just put in date for this year. Smiles! Carla

Posted - Apr 16 2010 : 7:01:48 PM When I joined the sisterhood I submitted things I had already done. It is sort of hard to learn something a second time. I put dates on everything so they would know that I had done it previously. They didn't seem to have a problem with it.
