I've been a member for several months now. I proudly posted my bumper sticker and I wore my badge. But the biggest thing I've noticed is not how people look at me, the sticker or the badge, but the way I've changed because of it. I had to go shopping today and was in the parking lot headed towards my car. I was trying to cross over and this woman drove through the lot pretty fast and came up on me. I was struggling a bit with the cart stuck in a rut and she honked the horn, give me the um "universal sign" and screamed at me to hurry it up. I was dumbfounded at the moment, then I glanced at my car. I saw my sticker and smiled. I gave her a big ole "Howdo ya do!" wave and proceeded on my way. She had stopped, and was now gawking at me looking like a fish out of water. I just continued on with my business, all the while smiling and being pleasant.
I can't change the world all at once, but I can change me, albeit a little at a time. The bumper sticker reminded me that I am not alone, I belong to the sisterhood, and most importantly, here right now, I represent that sisterhood.

Thats really great, Sherry! I woul dhave loved to have seen her face when you held your head high and went on about smiling. :) Sometimes this is a greater attention getter to others to check themselves than returning the nasty attitude...good for you!!

Good for you Sherry. I've had those same feelings in some akward/difficult situations and it does make you feel better for being the person you know you should be, MaryJane is a great influence, is she not? lol
