Your a non stitcher , right? Cuz I just finished my badge and welllll. Let me say I used the primitive stitch look to it. Looks like I used a fish bone.

I just want to give those that have not started their stitchen and decorating their badges, hope. Theres new stitches out there that have not made the books yet, so get out those needles and make future.

I have to take my hats off to those that can work those needles, seen some mighty pretty stitchen in the forums, WOW. But this ol farmgal just doesn't have it. oh I tried, I sew for a living on a factory sewing machine but when it comes to stitches , hummmmm.

So heres my badge all stitched up. I found some chicken wire fabric and wooden buttons that I have had forever. I'll have to find a jacket to put it on,maybe the pocket w/ chicken wire fabric for background.

Let me tell you before ya go a lookin at my badge tho. I took more stitches out of this Farmgirl hen then I have ever taken feathers off a real chicken. Oh my. I made her a Barred Plymouth Rock B/C that is what I raise. Seems fit'in, alto I love the little red hen too.

But you know its about the meaning and what the badge stands for. The decorating is just for fun. I even got a little bee on it to remind me to BEE have myself and the buttons mean to button up my chicken lips if my feathers get ruffled.

So get your creativity a try , you'll be surprised and we all will love to see your badge

I am a stitcher only because I was forced by a home ec teacher mom. She has banged her head against the wall dealing with me over the years but I am still not all that great. I admire the work of people with a stitching talent. I will leave it to them. You did a wonderful job! I hope my future badges will look this good. I love the buttons! I am a buttonaholic. So cute:)

Linda, you did a wonderful job on your badge. I love the blanket stitch around the edges. The buttons are just too cute. I may copy your badge if it's alright with you.

Congratulations for a job well done!

Kay, I'm not trying to push you into something you don't want to do.

But, I must say, I used to not like it either. And avoided it like the plague........cause mine didn't look good.

When I just started doing it and not worrying about it being perfect, and not looking at it as though it was under a microscope and would stand back and look, it didn't look half bad. Mine still isn't professional! lol But, I have come to like it. :)

Linda! It's adorable! I'm a non-stitcher too so of course I had to read the topic. It gives me hope for getting mine done. I haven't done cause I didn't want it to look terrible.

I've had some embroidery lessons and have realized that it's just not my cup of tea. I can't get it and everything I do looks horrible.

Good job from one non-stitcher to another!!

Oh Linda,
You do give the rest of us nonstitchers hope. I'm currently in the process of stitching my badge. It's uhhh, original to say the least. But I guess that what its all about. Hopefully, I can figure out how to get a picture of my completed badge on here to give other's hope just as you have.
