Posted - Dec 13 2007 : 3:36:12 PM Every day I wake up thinking, Today's the day we'll get our Henhouses up! Or at least far enough along so's we can be moving in but then when we test things, we find a glitch in the security part of that section or some such thing. And yes, we're keeping track of your merit badge questions as well and we promise we'll get those answered soon I hope! Thanks for your patience, but if the truth be known, I'm running out of mine. I can't wait to see your farmgirl decor and flair in all its glory. Incubation! I guess a hatch of this size takes the time it takes.

Posted - Dec 21 2007 : 6:50:37 PM Think of the Henhouse section of this forum as a separate forum, which it is. (It now has different colors to lessen confusion.) And just like this forum, anyone can go there and read. You can go there right now and READ...BUT for the purpose of JUST READING, it isn't necessary to type in a Username and Password at the top of the page. Just click on a topic and start reading. http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/HenHouseSnitz/default.asp
Now, remember, you have to be a sister that is in a cyber chapter to post. Over on the Henhouse forum, if you aren't a sister and also a member of a chapter (and right now we only have the Mud Hens moved in), you can still read what sisters are talking about but you can't post unless you belong to a particular cyber chapter.
Let's use me as an example: I'm not a member of the Mud Hens but I am an official sister, so if I hit Reply to Topic on one of their discussions, I get a pop-up that says: You Do Not Have Access. If I decide I'd like to join the Mud Hens in particular, I'd ask permission to join their chapter over on this forum where I still have access to member's e-mails. I'd sleuth Annika out as the leader and then I'd send her an e-mail telling her I'm a sister (# so-and-so) and a little bit about me. Maybe I'd give her a link to my blog or something.
If I decide I want to move into a Henhouse (not the Mud Hens), I'd have to either team up with another existing cyber chapter already moved into a Henhouse (by asking permission to join their chapter) or I'd start my own. BUT I'd have to be an official sister first.
Or, as an official sister, I can start my own cyber chapter and ask other sisters to join me (from the master list). Then I'd get my secret password or KEY to a Henhouse and so would the other sisters who want to join me. If I stand up to be the leader of my cyber chapter, I am the only one with a password to post on my chapter's bulletin board for the purpose of listing upcoming chapter events, etc.
As we move more of our cyber chapters in (composed of official SISTERS), there will be more discussions for you to READ but in order to POST you need to be a sister who is also a member of an approved cyber chapter. (The Bees without Borders chapter has volunteered to go next.)
Clear as mud? Why do you think the Mud Hens went first!!!!

Posted - Dec 21 2007 : 1:23:14 PM What happens when you all click on that bottom link (see below)?
.....(We're just getting started on the Henhouses, but you can see a sample here: http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/HenHouseSnitz/ )
When I click on it, it takes me to the Mud Hen Hen House. I'm a Mud Hen member, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I do know this, I'm excited about it!

Posted - Dec 19 2007 : 6:06:58 PM WooHoo! We have a few mud hens who are "visiting" and checking out the new henhouses so's to give us some valuable feedback on its nestability. They'll wiggle the latches, adjust the volume, yanno. They're also going to pick out some colors for the walls so Carol can give that section of our website a look that is different from the rest of our forum. She'll do that the week after Christmas. We're thinking black and red like our badges. That's when the rest of you hens can start moving in...the Bees without Borders, etc. But anyhoo, the mud hens are over there right now having a bit of tea. Go see! http://www.maryjanesfarm.org/HenHouseSnitz/

Posted - Dec 14 2007 : 03:40:18 AM Mary Jane, Wishing you a merry Christmas and don't even think about the henhouses over the holidays. Just enjoy your family and the more important things right now. I know it feels like we are all family but we understand and are busy ourselves so we don't expect you get this done tomorrow. We as farmgirls know how to exercise patience I would hope. It's best if our Queen Bee not be stressed out. Take care, Denise Farmgirl #43
